Rafał and Tulsi met at a house party in medical school 9 years ago while Rafał was completing his PhD. They instantly connected over a shared twisted sense of humor, and Rafał asked Tulsi out to the movies. One viewing of Django Unchained later (it *is* a love story after all), they knew it was meant to be.

Stealing her away for a brief vacation near the end of residency, Rafał proposed to Tulsi at the gorgeous Olympic National Park in the largest rainforest in the continental United States, a place she had wanted to visit for years. Recruiting the assistance of Rafał's co-chief resident and best friend, Tulsi had planned a surprise proposal to Rafał at Northwestern just before his residency graduation, featuring cameos by Bo Jackson and Dolph Lundgren.
