In the spring of 2015, Kat was a freshman and David a sophomore at Syracuse University. One day, Kat and her girlfriends stopped by the Theta Chi fraternity to visit friends who had just finished pledging, and Kat was introduced to David Tubman. He was standing proudly beside a full-sized tiki bar in his bedroom (yes, really). They said hello, chatted briefly, and went on with their day, unaware this was just the very beginning. After graduating and beginning her career in NYC, Kat moved to the Upper East Side, completely unaware that David lived just one block away. By chance (or fate), David was one of the first people to visit her new apartment, along with a small group of Syracuse friends also living in NYC. Throughout 2020 and early 2021, the group spent plenty of time together, with Kat and David often sharing a cab back uptown (purely for convenience and safety, of course). Over time, their friendship grew closer, and so did something more. When David moved to Murray Hill in spring 2021, things finally shifted. An impromptu double date made it clear how much fun they had together, and in June 2021, David officially asked Kat out on their first date. The rest, happily, is history. Since then, there have been adventures abroad, countless concerts, major milestones with family and friends, endless laughter, and a whole lot of love. Now, after a story years in the making, we can’t wait to become husband and wife, and celebrate with everyone we love!
