There will be no specific dress code, but we encourage semi-formal/dressy-casual. Keep in mind, for those who have visited the Black Hills before, you know all too well that the weather in South Dakota can be a bit...unpredictable. That being said, the temperature typically ranges between 70-80 degrees this time of year. The entire event will be outdoors, so dress accordingly. Additionally, to walk to/from the ceremony location will require walking up an inclined gravel road**, so we recommend comfortable footwear. If you choose to wear heels, a block heel is highly encouraged. **We understand that walking up gravel hill is not the most accessible for all of our guests. For that reason, we will have drivers to shuttle guests up the hill as needed.
Unfortunately, due to limited capacity, we cannot accommodate everyone's preferred guests. However, we did try to include all plus ones we were aware of! Your invite will indicate whether or not a date was accounted for.
Although we encourage using this weekend as a chance to have a parent(s) night out, we understand that child care can be difficult and expensive to find. Your children are more than welcome to attend, if indicated on your invite.
The bride, groom, and their families have rented a majority of the Chalets between the ceremony and reception locations. There will be limited parking on the driveways of these, which will be reserved for family and the bridal party. Other guests can park in the Stewart Lodge parking lot where the previously mentioned rides will pick up and transport guests as needed. Signage will be present on the wedding day to direct guests.
We would love for our guests to be in the moment with us, therefore will be having an unplugged ceremony. We’ve hired a professional photographer who is very good at her job, so please refrain from using your phone during the wedding ceremony. Feel free to capture as many memories as you’d like during our reception!
EAT. DRINK. AND BE BERRY! Cade and Taylor will be providing the spirits to enjoy during the event. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options will be provided. Have some specific requests? Feel free to bring your own drinks if you would like!
