Rental Car

Car Rental Services

If you want to rent a car for the week, you can do so and pick it up from the Linate or Malpensa airports, or the Milan train station. International Driving Permits are not required, at least for Hertz (but they may be requested for some rental companies). We do recommend renting a car and coordinating to carpool with a couple other guests, particularly if you are interested in exploring Milan, Lake Como, or elsewhere throughout the week. We can arrange taxi services for you to and from the airport if you'd like, though this must be done at least one week in advance so please let us know if you require this. Parking is free and easy at the villa.

Airport Recommendations

There are a few options for flights near Casatenovo, but we recommend Malpensa for the most direct options from the US (and it's about a 50 minute drive to the villa). Linate airport is close - about a 35 minute drive to the villa, but offers fewer direct flights. Bergamo airport is another option, and about a 45 minute drive from the villa.

Public Transportation

There are a few different options for getting to and from Milan via public transport; we’ve outlined them below along with any relevant considerations & costs: Fastest Route to Milan Central Station: - 15 Minutes walking from the Villa there’s a bus station (Casatenovo - Stadio) - Take the D80 toward Arcore - stazione f.s. - Purchase ticket ahead of time using Moovit app - Walk 2 minutes to Arcore train station - Take the S8 train to Milano Porto Garibaldi (4 stops, around 35 minutes) - Ticket can be purchased online using link below Train lines to city - S7 & S8 train lines will take riders into the city of Milan, but getting to one of these trains will require some travel - Fastest train route: Walk 35 minutes to the Stazione FS Besana and take the S7 train to Milano Porta Garibaldi (Milan Central Station) Where to buy a ticket (Bus & Train) - Bus - The Moovit app can be used to purchase tickets for the D80 bus.
