On the surface, Ben and Tristi had nothing in common. Ben always looked like he was auditioning for a reboot of “Lonesome Dove” and Tristi looked like she had just found the clearance rack at Hot Topic. He was a country boy and she was a tad alternative. Tristi thought he was a jerk. Ben thought she was weird. And both of them were probably right. After purposefully avoiding each other in high school, these two opposite souls were suggested as “people you may know” by Mark Zuckerberg himself. Taking the plunge into unlikely friendship, the “add friend” buttons were pushed and new found companionship was born. And it wasn’t just any friendship. It was a friendship that sort of stood on it’s own and in it’s own catagory. It was the type of friendship that people seek their whole lives but still come up empty handed - the kind of understood friendship that came without conditions or complication. Come rain or shine, they just knew the other one was there. No questions asked. And then life happened. The lives that seemingly had ran parralel the majority of adulthood landed in the same space at the exact same time. What better way to finish out this life, as parents, then with the one person who has always been there? The person who never judged you... The person who knew your worsts and loved you anyway... And the person who, like clockwork, always showed up. There isn’t a better way at all. So, on August 22, 2020 - these two souls will be joined together 21 years later and the timing could not be more perfect than it is.
