We met on eHarmony. After reading Sara's profile I sent the first smile on July 3, 2018. She smiled back that day. I suddenly got nervous and finally on July 23, I sent her a message. Again she replied immediately. We messaged every day and soon exchanged email and numbers. We were emailing daily, texting several times a day and soon we wanted to talk on the phone all the time. Within a month, we decided to meet. On August 31, Sara flew into SLC, Utah from Sacramento, CA. As we got to know each other better during the weekend, we got along very well and had a great time. For our first date I took Sara to an Italian restaurant, then she surprised me with tickets to a REAL game (Salt Lake’s MLS team). REAL won! It was a great date! When Sara flew back home, I returned with her. During the week I was there, we decided I would move to live with her. We flew back to Utah for my sister’s wedding and then we packed my stuff and left for CA. Although it was sad to leave my family and roommate, I was excited to be moving in with my girlfriend.
We took an early morning hot air balloon ride over Napa Valley, then drove to Lake Tahoe. I proposed to Sara at the lake. The weather was perfect with a light breeze to make the water move and the sunset was beautiful. During my proposal I got tongue tied but Sara still said “of course.” Very quickly our relationship took on a life of its own becoming a whirlwind romance. Neither Sara nor I were expecting it to move so quickly, but we learned you do not plan how quickly or slowly love moves. It grabs your heart and tells you when it’s right or wrong and this was very right for both of us. We have spent this last year and a half growing our relationship, learning the good and bad about each other and in the process become best friends. Each day we learn something new and fall deeper in love. Before I end, I can’t forget Taz, Sara’s dog. It was his approval I needed most and thankfully he gave it to me. We have become very close.
