What documents do I need to travel to Mexico?

Answer

- US passport holders - If you have a valid US passport with at least one empty page (for Mexican immigration to stamp), you're good! - If you have an Indian passport with a US visa, no Mexican tourist visa is needed. - If you have a non-US passport, please reach out to us on a one on one basis. Our travel agent, Shaadi Destinations, can help us navigate Mexican tourist visas.

How do I get from the airport to the resort?

Answer

The resort is about 45 minutes from the airport so you will need transportation. We have set up a round trip shuttle service for $26/person that you can request when you book your room through Shaadi Destinations. This is the easiest way to get from the airport to the resort. They will pick you up based on your provided flight information (including if your flight gets delayed) and will drop you back off at the airport to catch your flight home! Lastly, if you rent a car, Yes Rent A Car will pick you up from the airport and take you to their car rental lot (similar to all other rental companies).

Where should we stay?

Answer

We will be having our wedding at the Planet Hollywood Cancun in Costa Mujeres! We highly recommend staying at the resort because there are not many other hotels nearby. It is an all inclusive resort and we have a block of rooms available at a discounted rate. The resort has a main hotel area that is family friendly and an adult side for only adults (over the age of 18). Both areas are connected and accessible for all wedding events. So book whichever you like! Please note, if you do not stay at the resort, there is a $80 fee per person, per day to access the venue on the days of the wedding events. We will have two days of events. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to either one of us!

How long should you stay?

Answer

The wedding events are on March 1st and 2nd and Planet Hollywood has a three night minimum (if you book through our travel agency). If you would like to just attend the wedding, we recommend checking in Thursday, Feb 29th and checking out Sunday, March 3rd. If you would like to treat this more like a vacation (we know we are!), feel free to add nights before or after the wedding. The discounted room rates will apply. We will be there Wednesday, Feb. 28th through Sunday March 3rd. Come hang with us!

What is covered in the “all inclusive” room rate?

Answer

The room rate includes unlimited food and beverages, both non-alcoholic and alcohol. The resort has 16 restaurants, each one is included in the rate. Beverage stations and bars are located throughout the resort and are also included in the rate. Planet Hollywood Cancun brings curated entertainment experiences with refreshing pools, luxurious rooms, nine bars, four swimming pools, a lazy river, trampoline park, kids/teens club, and a mini-golf course, making it the ideal destination for work, family, romance and play.

What should you expect at a Desi Wedding?

The wedding weekend consists of four events: Gaye Holud Mehendi & Sangeet Wedding Ceremony Wedding Reception The Gaye Holud and Sangeet are scheduled for March 1st, 2024. The Wedding Ceremony and Reception are scheduled on the following day, March 2nd. All events will be at the Planet Hollywood Resort. Everyone is invited to all events, but if you would like to only attend the wedding ceremony and reception, no problem!

What should I wear?!

Get ready to show out! As mentioned there will be 4 events. As we want everyone to be as comfortable as possible, we still want everyone to DRESS UP!! Both Western/American clothes and Desi clothes are welcome at all events! If you would like recommendations on Indian dresses for men or women, please don't hesitate to reach out to me (Triparna)! Below are a few recommendations for attire broken out by event. Gaye Holud: Typically people wear yellow, orange, or light colors to this event. This event can get messy, so please wear something you wouldn't mind getting dirty or wet. We recommend cotton or flowy maxi dresses. Men can wear short sleeved button down shirts and khaki or linen pants. Please no swimwear. Mehendi/Sangeet: We want people to feel glamorous! Come dressed in fun colors and sparkles. And remember to be comfortable because we will be dancing the night away! This event will be on the beach so choose appropriate footwear. Wedding Ceremony: Feel free to dress up! Please do not wear red. We recommend semi-formal or formal wear, but dress cool as this event will be outside on a rooftop. Cocktail Party & Reception: We want people to feel fancy! Please dress in formal wear. Cocktail dresses are acceptable. Suit jackets and blazers are encouraged. This event will be inside in air conditioning.

Absolutely! Planet Hollywood is a family friendly resort and also has an Adults Only side. Both areas are on one resort, feel free to book whichever side you would like.
