Our story began in Spain, where two people from different parts of the world happened to meet. I was living in Spain teaching English, and Dominic, from Munich, Germany, was completing an exchange semester as part of his Master's degree. We both ended up at a language exchange, ready to practice our Spanish, but instead, we found ourselves instantly drawn to each other. Placed in the same group, we spent the evening talking—not so much practicing Spanish, but sharing stories, laughing, and realizing how much we had in common. That night, Dominic walked me home, and we both knew it wouldn’t be the last time we’d see each other. Over the next three months, we spent as much time together as possible, making the most of our time in Spain. But eventually, Dominic’s semester came to an end, and he had to return to Germany. Although we weren’t sure what the future held, we stayed close, keeping in touch as friends despite the distance. A year later, I visited Germany, and it felt like no time had passed. That’s when we decided to take the next step and begin a long-distance relationship. Over the next year and a half, with visits between Spain, Germany, and the U.S., we met each other's friends and families, building a foundation for something we knew was special. After countless phone calls, flights, and too much time apart, we realized we didn’t want to live life from afar anymore. We’re excited to begin this next chapter together. After celebrating our wedding in Richmond, Virginia, we’ll be moving to Dominic’s home in Munich, Germany, ready for all the adventures that await us. We feel incredibly blessed by everything that has brought us to this moment and are grateful for the love and support that has guided us along the way.
