Flight

Munich vs. Vienna vs. Salzburg

Option 1: Munich (MUC) is the closest international airport to Salzburg. Once you arrive, take an S-Bahn train S8 or S1 to München-Ostbahnhof, then take an hourly Regional Express train to Salzburg. 2.5 hours. Option 2: There are daily trains from Vienna to Salzburg. You can take one from the airport or from Vienna Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof). 2.5 hours. More info: https://www.oebb.at/en/ Option 3: Unless you’re coming from London, Salzburg (SZG) is likely your priciest option due to a limited number of flights per day. The upside is a short travel time, no line at the airport.
