As with most good moments in life, this one started with Austrian beer and Wiener Schnitzel. Trinity and Christian both went to Kellogg for their MBA, one year apart. As the defacto German of Kellogg, Christian organized Oktoberfest events to introduce students from all around the world to the best experience known to mankind. Luckily, this time also included a FOMOing first-year from Vietnam. In the German restaurant, Christian fought his way against the crowd to claim a tiny seat in a corner to meet her, with an excuse: "It’s the only seat left!" Little did they know that one day he would be the one to say: "Kids, I met your mother at a bar." Wie sehr viele gute Momente im Leben, began unsere Geschichte auch bei österreichischem Bier und Wiener Schnitzel. Trinity und Christian haben bei den MBA an der Kellogg absolviert. Als der quasi-Deutsche an der Uni hat Christian regelmäßig Oktoberfeste organisiert um den internationalen Studenten diese Tradition näherzubringen. Glücklicherweiße war auch ein Partygirl aus Vietnam dabei. Im deutschen Restaurant kämpfte sich Christian dann durch die gesamte Menge um sich einen winzigen Platz in der Ecke zu sichern, um "zufällig" neben ihr zu sitzen.

In February, the pair traveled to Iceland for Valentine's Day. Christian drove like mad through the craziest snow storm to chase after the Northern Lights. He had also planned to make the natural phenomenon even more special with a proposal. With a tripod in hand and engagement ring in his pocket, they drove in the dark for hours but all they saw was clouds and an empty sky. Fortunately, Cupid granted them a second opportunity in a form of a friends' wedding - Daniel & Maria Wallerstorfer. In June, instead of throwing the bouquet like all brides do, Maria handed it to the surprised and confused Trinity who wasn't sure if this was part of Austrian traditions. Christian fuhr wie ein Verrückter durch den Schneesturm um die berümten Nordlichter zu sehen. Er hatte geplant, das Naturphänomen durch eine Verlobung noch besonderer zu machen. Mit einem Stativ in der Hand und einem Verlobungsring in der Tasche fuhren sie stundenlang im Dunkeln, aber alles, was sie sahen, waren Wolken und ein leerer Himmel. Glücklicherweise gab das Schicksal ihnen eine zweite Gelegenheit in Form einer Hochzeit von Freunden - Daniel & Maria Wallerstorfer. Im Juni, anstatt den Braut-Strauß zu werfen, reichte Maria ihn der überraschten und verwirrten Trinity, die sich nicht sicher war, ob dies Teil der österreichischen Traditionen war.
