Their journey began in high school, although unbeknownst to either of them. See, they shared mutual friends, but theirs paths never quite crossed. Following high school, Patrick went to UNT in Denton, and Trianna attended UT Austin. It wasn't until both graduated college did fate finally bring them back together when celebrating a mutual friends birthday (hi, Molly!). Patrick’s warm smile and thoughtful conversation immediately stood out. While walking Trianna back to her car, they shared their dreams and aspirations under a starry night's sky. In that moment, Patrick found that one person he had been so patient to find while Trianna began to wonder... Is there something special here? Unfortunately, Patrick stayed in Dallas to teach, while Trianna remained in Austin working as a registered nurse in the ER. Both extremely busy, he could only reach out whenever he was in town for the holidays, always hoping to spend time together — but Trianna kept finding reasons to say no. Once, she even told him she was staying home to spend time with family, only for him to spot her out with friends (oops!). Still, Patrick never gave up. For two years he continued to pursue her, always hopeful for a chance, for what he believed could be life-changing. He came to the conclusion in order to have any real possibility he needed to return to Austin, and so he did. With a little more time, effort, and fortunate strokes of serendipity, Trianna finally agreed to their first date in early January 2016. As the night came to a close, and the stars lit up the night's sky, they ended it by walking along Lady Bird Lake for over an hour, indulging the other in their deepest truths and authentic selves. And with that night, Trianna knew Patrick was indeed somebody special. So there was only one more trial left to pass. A week later, Trianna invited him out with some colleagues one evening and he instantly won everyone over with his kindness — and at last, completely won her over, too. From that moment on, their story has been written day by day, memory by memory into one neither of them could have imagined. As they embark on the next chapter of their fairy tale, it is truly as they say — the best is yet to come.
