FAQs

Question

Is there a Sioux Falls celebration?

Answer

Yes! We’ll be having a special stateside ceremony in Sioux Falls ahead of our destination wedding. This will be a more intimate gathering with just our families. While it won’t be a full and traditional reception, we’re so grateful for all the love and support from everyone, and we’re excited to celebrate with the rest of you—whether at the resort or from afar!

Question

Do I have to stay on the resort?

Answer

For security reasons, only guests with room reservations can access the resort, so all wedding attendees must book their stay through the resort. We’d love for you to celebrate the whole weekend with us, but you can make your trip as short or long as you like. Please note the resort requires a minimum stay of 3 nights. Visit the Travel tab to book your room and find all the details.

Question

Passport

Answer

Every guest must have a valid passport to travel. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date—this is required for international travel. You’ll need your passport to board your flight, return to the U.S., and to check in at the resort. If you don’t have a passport yet (or need to renew), we recommend taking care of that as soon as possible to avoid any delays. Better safe than scrambling last minute!

Question

Can I bring a Guest?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! If your invitation includes a guest, then yes, you’re welcome to bring one. If cost is a concern and you would like a plus one, feel free to reach out to Trey or I and we will discuss with you! I'm sure we can make it work :)

Question

Can I bring my kiddo?

Answer

In Sioux Falls—yes! This celebration is all about family, so kiddos are more than welcome. In Mexico—while the resort is family friendly, not this time! We're turning the resort trip into an adults-only vacation. Think of it as a much-needed excuse to pack your sunglasses, leave the Paw Patrol behind, and join us for some grown-up fun in the sun! If you are unable to attend Mexico due to child care restrictions, please reach out and we will invite you to our Sioux Falls event! 18 and older are welcome to attend! (Those who bring children will not be allowed on the adults side of the resort, so we couldn't hang out!)

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Our Sioux Falls Ceremony we would love for you to dress up! We know it's only a few hours, so dress comfortable. But remember, the Atrium is a beautiful venue! When in doubt, cocktail attire, long dresses, or collared shirts are perfect! Our dress code in Mexico is Beach Semi-Formal — think elevated, breezy, and wedding-ready! Since we’re celebrating near the beach, we encourage you to dress up while keeping comfort in mind. It can get breezy, so we recommend skipping short, flowy skirts or dresses that might have a mind of their own. Instead, go for long, flowy dresses, jumpsuits, or outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. We’d love for guests to wear shades of blue, yellow, or pink! Please avoid wearing white, ivory, or anything close to those shades (we kindly ask you leave those colors to the bride!)

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Swimwear for pool days, beach hangs, and spontaneous cannonballs. Sandals or flip-flops for easy breezy strolls by the water. A fanny pack or small bag to bring your smaller items around the resort in. The resort will supply 1 beach bag per room (I believe) Sunscreen so you don’t turn into a lobster (Temperatures in early May are typically in the mid‑80s ° during the day, with lows around 77 ° in the evening) Hot tip: Even though the resort is all-inclusive, bringing a stash of $1s and $5s (USD) is super helpful for tipping your favorite bartenders, servers, and housekeeping heroes. Dining Dress Codes: Some of the resort’s restaurants and bars require “casual elegance” — think no flip-flops or shorts, and guys, you'll need long pants and closed-toe shoes. If you're planning a fancy dinner or two, double-check each restaurant's dress code on the resort website so you’re not caught off guard!

Question

BRIDAL PARTY INFO

Answer

Hey Bridal Party! 🎉 We’re asking everyone to arrive at the resort on May 2nd so we can kick off the bachelor and bachelorette fun on May 3rd. The guys will be out golfing and deep-sea fishing 🎣⛳, and the ladies will be doing something equally as fun, less fish. Then, together, we’re planning a catamaran ride with your significant others! ⛵ Still working out the final details, but it’s going to be amazing. Heads up—you’ll be covering your own costs for these activities, so check the resort’s website to see the prices and start saving! 💸
