In the fall of 2014, Jo and Casey’s paths first crossed in the most unexpected way. Jo’s sorority was hosting a “Dad’s Day” event—dinner, a hockey game, and a fun night out with their fathers. But on the way to the game, Jo and her best friend had a spontaneous idea. They turned to their dads and said, “Want to go to the bar instead?” And so, they did. There, they met a friendly, charming bartender—Casey—who quickly hit it off with the group. Little did Jo know, that bartender would one day become her husband. Years later, in 2017, Casey sent Jo a lighthearted Instagram message that led to an invite to her birthday celebration at SantaCon. They had a great time, but life took them in different directions. It wasn’t until 2021 that Jo reached out with an overdue apology, and their connection reignited. After nonstop conversations, Jo invited Casey to visit her in Phoenix, and their love story truly began. For the next year, they traveled back and forth between Phoenix and Denver, exploring mountains, sharing dreams, and growing closer with every visit. In March of 2022, a trip to Hawaii solidified what they both knew—long distance wasn’t for them. Jo moved to Denver, and they created a cozy home with their two dogs, Gryffindor and Maverick. After a year in the mountains, they felt the call of the beach and relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida, where their future continued to unfold.
