Almost a year after our first trip together to Siargao, we'd booked to go again, as it's one of our favourite places to visit. When we pulled into the airport, excuses needed to be made so that Carla would go ahead and check-in. This was so I'd have the opportunity to ask Cy for his daughter's hand in marriage. Due to nerves it was all a bit rushed, but thankfully he said Yes. I'd planned to propose on the Sunday, as we'd planned a boat trip with Carla's Niece Arella, Oliver and my Niece Ava. The night before I told Arella my plans and that it would happen on Naked Island. Not Naked as in the people!! Naked as the island is completely bare. When the boat berthed we walked towards the clear blue seas on the other side of the island. Then, just before we reached the water, I went down on one knee and asked the question. Losing my balance, it looked as though both knees were on the sand and I was begging Carla to marry. Well, this is according to Ava and Oliver. Other visitors witnessed what was happening and started cheering when Carla said yes, very embarrassing, but also helped make the occasion more special. All this was captured on camera thanks to Arella. So we've seen it many times over now. Hopefully, many of you will choose to visit the island if you come to the wedding. - Trevor
