Our Story

Our story begins in the summer of 2019 on the ‘sparkling waters’ of Cass Lake in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Britta, was working at Domino's headquarters in Ann Arbor and was spending her summer soaking up the sun, visiting her sister, Breezy, in West Bloomfield and mooching pontoon rides off Breezy's brother-in-law, Tyler. Meanwhile, Trevor, was working downtown Detroit and was living the lake life with his high school and college buddies in Waterford, their days filled with boat rides, sandbar shenanigans, and epic nights at CJs Upper Deck. On 4th of July weekend that summer, while out on the lake, fate and friends intervened and brought our worlds together. Amidst a heated game of beersbee (a rivalry that continues to this day!), a spark ignited. Trevor was smitten with Britta's infectious energy and undeniable cuteness (though her “loud” laugh may have initially startled him), while Britta found herself drawn to Trevor's kindness, easygoing nature, and that undeniably ginger hair. The summer unfolded in a whirlwind of boat days, karaoke nights, and introductions to family and friends. Our connection deepened with every shared adventure and milestone, including Trevor's first home purchase! By November, it became “official” – we were two peas in a pod, ready to take on the world together. Then came 2020, and the world turned upside down with the COVID pandemic. Undeterred, we decided to "test the waters" of cohabitation during quarantine and moved in together. Trevor, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on who you ask), was unaware that this package deal included Britta's feline companion, Minx. Let's just say, Minx quickly established dominance in the household. Trevor learned that Britta’s definition of “clean” is a lot more flexible than his. And Britta discovered that Trevor, due to his attention to detail, cleanliness and organization skills, has a surprising talent for finding misplaced items (key fobs, TV remotes, etc.). But our love story only grew stronger with time. In September 2023, amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Grand Teton mountains, Trevor dropped to one knee during a romantic horseback riding trip. Britta, momentarily stunned into silence (perhaps she fainted? Who can remember!), eventually regained consciousness and exclaimed "YES!" We rode off into the “proverbial” sunset (haha), our love story forever etched against the majestic mountain backdrop. Today, we navigate the joys of "partial" long-distance, with Britta conquering the corporate world in Toronto at Google three days a week, while Trevor holds down the fort in Waterford taking care of our furry family - which expanded to include Koda, an adorable pup who we adopted in April 2022. From coast to coast, we've celebrated countless weddings with friends and family, explored new destinations, and grown together amidst life's adventures. To all our friends and family who connected us, have witnessed our relationship grow, and nurtured our love story, thank you! You've played a pivotal role in our journey, and we can't wait to celebrate this new chapter with you.
