How We Met

October 15, 2015

Our initial meeting was at Eric's house. Trévoir was hanging out with one of Eric's fraternity brothers who was a house guest and also recently moved to Houston. While hanging, Eric comes home from a long day at work and politely requested we move to another part of the house because he wanted to unwind from work. Prior to Trévoir's departure, Eric and Trévoir engaged in cordial conversation and the spark was ignited. Our next meeting was in mid-November. Trévoir phoned Eric, inquired about what his plans were for the day. Eric mentioned he was about to go shopping. Trévoir mentioned he cooked Sunday dinner consisting of baked chicken, rice, fried cabbage, macaroni, and cheese and invited Eric over to eat dinner.

Our First Date

December 16, 2015

Eric invited Trévoir to his company's annual Christmas party. Upon arriving at the Christmas party, we ran into Eric's manager and his fiance. After his manager introduces himself and his fiance, Eric introduced himself but forgot Trévoir's name. (Talk about an awkward moment) The rest of the evening was uneventful but most memorable. It was during the laughing, dancing, interactions with his co-workers, and taking our first picture as a couple, we both realized that this could be someone I spend the rest of my life's journey with.

The Proposal

September 26, 2019

While planning our vacation to Barcelona, Spain, we decided to engage in our annual Yes Day tradition. (Yes Day is when one person plans the activities for the whole day (24-hours) and the other must agree to the planned activities. FYI - this is a good activity to introduce new and interesting activities and a good exercise in building trust. Trévoir decided this would be a perfect and romantic opportunity to ask Eric to marry him. In preparation for his proposal on his Yes Day, Trévoir purchased the engagement ring, custom-designed engagement t-shirts, arraigned for a hot air balloon ride (which was on the couple's bucket lists), and coordinated with the pilot when was the best time during the flight to propose. When Trévoir informed Eric of his Yes Day hot air balloon ride activity, Eric's expression was one of total shock and amazement but the first thing Eric says was "I need to call my mother to inform her what we're about to do just in case". PRICELESS! Once we were over the ideal proposal location, the pilot cued me and he played along by asked if he can take a picture of us (but secretly started recording). Trévoir asked. Eric said yes. Here we are today, getting married.

For all the days along the way
