You will need to fly into Athens to get to our wedding location in Naxos. Here are some tips to keep in mind when booking your flight to Athens: • Greece is a +8 hour time difference, it is recommended to get into Athens in the morning and attempt to stay awake the entire day to help avoid jet lag- think of this when picking a flight • We recommend setting a price tracker on Google Flights for flights to Athens and plan to book travel more than 4 months out. Flights are open for June so book when you are comfortable
Travel method
The only way to get to Naxos is either by taking a flight or ferry from Athens Flights: • You can book flights through either Olympic (Aegean) Airlines or Sky Express. • Flights are around $150-250 round trip, per person • Flights take about 40 minutes each way • We recommend taking a flight if you want a quicker journey or get sea sick easily. This is also a good option if you are traveling with lighter luggage as the planes are smaller and can't always accommodate large luggage like ferries can Ferry: There are daily ferries between Athens and Naxos. You can book through the following companies: • Sea Jets (fast ferry, about 3.5 hours each way) • Blue Star Ferries (slow ferry, about 5.5 hours each way) • We recommend taking the ferry if you want a relaxed journey or want to get on island time • We recommend booking your ferry (or flight) at least 3-6 months out as both will fill up closer to June • Please plan on arriving in Naxos no later than Sunday, June 14th
If you'd like to island hop
Paros is the closest island to Naxos, with just a 45 minute ferry to the port. Paros has some extra bars and clubs if you'd like to party some more. You can check out Antiparos (a smaller, broken off island directly off of the coast of Paros) Mykonos is one of the most popular islands in Greece. It has the typical white buildings and beachy charm that everyone thinks of, and is also a very short ferry ride from Naxos, averaging around an hour. Crete is not a Cycladic island, so you won't find the typical white and blue architecture. This island is the biggest one in Greece and is known for its diverse landscape, with mountains, valleys, and beaches. Crete is about a 4 hour ferry from Naxos, but also has an airport if you prefer to fly.
