Wedding Party

Introduction to the Wedding Party

Laura

Bride

Born in Milan, Italy, Laura moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, at just two years old. She studied Nursing and Allied Health Sciences before finding her passion in the field of histology. Beyond her career, Laura has an endless adoration for animals. She shares her home with their beloved dog (Willow) and two cats, (Poppy & Basil) and has fostered nine dogs and three kittens over the years.

Travis

Groom

Travis was born in Ocean Springs on January 23, 1989, to his wonderful parents, Ted and Paula Gibson. Growing up, he moved often, living in Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, and eventually Nevada, where he spent his formative years. Along the way, he built lasting friendships in every chapter of life and now has close friends scattered all over the world. A proud graduate of Ole Miss, Travis has always valued connection, loyalty, and making the most out of life’s journey. But his greatest adventure didn’t begin until he met the love of his life. After more than 33 years of waiting, he found the woman of his dreams and he’s never been more certain of anything.

Bailee

Maid of Honor

Bailee and Laura first met back in high school, but their real friendship began in 2015 when they worked together at Connors Steak & Seafood. From there, their bond just kept growing—the girls went on to work two more jobs together and even became roommates. Over the past ten years, Bailee has become so much more than a best friend; she’s family. From countless shared meals and endless laughter, to adventures near and far.

Chris

Best Man

Travis met his best man Chris Spencer over 33 years ago at their neighborhood pool in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, and they’ve been side by side ever since. Given the nickname the “Bean Brothers,” Travis was “String Bean” and Chris was “Butterbean,” nicknames that somehow stuck almost as well as their friendship. To this day, Travis only knows him as “Little Bud.” What started as childhood pool days turned into a lifelong bond that has outlasted time, distance, and growing up. Their families became close along the way and remain great friends today. Even though they don’t live near each other now, whenever they get together it’s like no time has passed, just two little boys picking up right where they left off. Having his lifelong best friend standing beside him on this day means more than words can say.

Michaela

Bridesmaid

Laura met Michaela at cheerleading tryouts back in 2010 and instantly clicked — even though they went to different high schools. With birthdays just two days apart, it didn’t take long for the two to start a tradition of beach trips to celebrate together. They’ve shared everything from roommate life to long stretches apart, but their friendship never misses a beat. No matter how much time passes, when Laura and Michaela reconnect, it’s like picking up right where they left off — usually with laughter, stories, and a little bit of chaos.

Jesse

Groomsman

Thirty-six years ago, Jesse was born—completely unaware that, just 14 years later, he’d meet a lifelong friend and accidentally become Travis’s unofficial bodyguard. The two became fast friends and teammates throughout high school, where Jesse’s protective services were apparently included at no extra charge. After graduation, Travis asked Jesse in June if he wanted to move to Santa Barbara for college. Jesse didn’t exactly have a choice (someone had to keep Travis out of trouble), so by August they were roommates. A few unforgettable—and mostly unmentionable—years later, Travis finally surrendered to his Southern roots and transferred to Ole Miss. Despite the miles between them, their platonic long-distance relationship remains strong to this day. And although Jesse’s bodyguard duties are technically retired, he’s always on call—just in case.

Jessica

Bridesmaid

Laura and Jessica first crossed paths in high school while working part-time at Kinnucan’s Specialty Outfitters. The two quickly bonded over their shared talent for getting in trouble — mostly for laughing too much or talking when they shouldn’t. Though Jessica now calls Chattanooga home, their friendship has never faded. Whether it’s a baby shower, wedding, camping trip, or even a funeral (because that’s real friendship), these two always find their way back to each other.

James

Groomsman

Travis and James met in 2020 at Blue Hills Golf Club. They were paired together on the back nine due to slow play—what would normally have been just nine holes together, maybe an exchange of numbers, and then never speaking again, instead turned into a brotherhood. Since then, they haven’t gone more than two weeks without seeing each other. They’ve taken multiple trips together, ranging from a golf trip to Myrtle Beach to a boys’ weekend in Atlanta. Travis has been by James’s side through some of the hardest moments of his life, and James is incredibly grateful to have him in his life.

Brianna

Bridesmaid

Brianna and Laura met through their mutual friend Jessica — Brianna just happened to live three houses down from her growing up. The trio quickly became inseparable, spending their time camping, laughing, and hunting Pokémon like it was a full-time job. Somewhere along the way, Brianna became Laura’s trusted lash tech and, in a funny twist of fate, went on to marry her own Travis — proving that great minds (and apparently great husbands) think alike.

Ricky

Groomsman

Ricky met Travis during his first semester at Ole Miss in an accounting class — and what started as a casual “Hey, we live in the same building!” moment quickly turned into a lifelong friendship. From that day on, the two were inseparable — truly two peas in a pod. Between hanging out, talking stocks, and getting into their usual shenanigans, Travis and Ricky always had a good time. One of their favorite inside jokes? The time 23-year-old Ricky and 25-year-old Travis joked that their future wives were “probably 17 somewhere.” Turns out, they were right — both Laura and Ricky’s now-fiancée actually WERE 17 at the time! It’s safe to say these two have been destined to share life’s best stories ever since.

Victoria

Bridesmaid

Laura met Victoria (VP) a little later in life, around 2019 — but it immediately felt like finding a long-lost sister who just happened to be just what she needed. Together they’ve done it all: 5 a.m. workouts, spontaneous trips, wild concerts, and countless girls’ nights. Whether they’re sweating, singing, or snacking, VP keeps life interesting — and Laura wouldn’t have it any other way.

TJ

Groomsman

Travis met TJ 24 years ago on their Pop Warner football team when they were 13… though he’d say he really met him after TJ cleaned his clock in a tackling drill. They’ve been “banging heads” together ever since. Their friendship grew through years of sports, family trips, and growing up side by side, with their parents becoming close along the way. Having TJ stand beside him on his day means a lot, especially knowing their lifelong bond started with one unforgettable hit.

Cassidy

Bridesmaid

Laura and Cassidy met while working together at Connor’s Steak and Seafood ten years ago and have been inseparable ever since. What started as long restaurant shifts quickly turned into a friendship filled with laughter, late nights, and unforgettable memories. Through every phase of life, their bond has only grown stronger, built on loyalty, humor, and unconditional support. Cassidy feels incredibly lucky to stand by Laura’s side and celebrate her on such a special day.

Albert

Groomsman

Albert is Laura’s younger brother, and the two are five years apart—just enough for her to lead the way while he kept life entertaining. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and now lives in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. He’s always up for a good time, whether that means going to concerts, listening to his favorite rap artists, or watching soccer—especially when his team, Manchester United, is playing. At eight years old, Albert underwent a brain surgery that didn’t go as planned, leaving him unable to walk. But that’s only a small part of his story. It hasn’t slowed him down in the slightest. His strength, resilience, and perspective on life are truly remarkable. Albert is not only an important part of Laura’s life, but also someone who brings energy, humor, and heart wherever he goes—and she couldn’t imagine this day without him by her side.

Gabriela

Mother of the Bride

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Gabriela is the definition of a golden heart wrapped in endless energy. She’s never met a stranger — if there’s someone nearby, she’s probably already deep in conversation with them (and making them laugh). Funny, spunky, and endlessly generous, her warmth leaves a mark that lasts a lifetime. She’s a devoted mother to two perfect children — one of whom just happens to be the bride — and an unapologetic animal lover who’s constantly trying to “borrow” Laura’s dog. Gabriela’s love, strength, and spirit have shaped so much of who Laura is today, and having her by her side means the world.

Paula

Mother of the Groom

Born on November 12th, 1952, in Bainbridge, Maryland, to Glenn and Jean Sistrunk, Mom made her way to Beaumont, Texas at just six weeks old, where she was raised and became a true Texas lady, complete with big hair and an even bigger personality. She followed her passion into a career as a beautician, bringing her warmth and charm to everyone she met. It was at Kinsel Ford, where she worked at a car dealership, that she had a chance encounter with Ted Gibson, initially trying to run him off the lot, not realizing he owned the brand-new fleet of vans… or that he’d soon become her husband. Known for her big heart and magnetic personality, she has a way of making everyone feel special. She’s truly everyone’s favorite “little lady” and no one feels that more than her son.

Omer

Father of the Bride

Ted

Father of the Groom

Ted William Gibson was born on November 22, 1942, in Wylam, Alabama, to Thomas and Laura Gibson. The youngest of three boys, he spent most of his upbringing in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he developed a competitive spirit and excelled in sports. He went on to attend Georgia Tech, a place he still holds close with pride. A proud Marine, Ted served in the Vietnam War and rose to the rank of Captain, an accomplishment that reflects his discipline, leadership, and strength of character. Known as a bit of a “wild boy” from Mississippi in his younger days, he also proved himself as a driven and successful businessman, founding Classic City Mechanical and pursuing several other ventures. It was through his work that he eventually crossed paths with a little cutie from Texas, setting the stage for a 43-year marriage, a son, and a lifetime of stories. His journey is one marked by grit, humor, and a deep commitment to the people he loves.
