In May 2022, while Travis was in Knoxville on a trip from Roanoke, Virginia, Tinder decided to play matchmaker — and somehow, Travis became her first match. (No pressure, right?) They messaged for a while, waited a month to meet, and 3 months to make it official. From the start, Travis was intentional — he always said, “My next girlfriend will be my wife.” True to his word, on July 1st, 2022, he asked Laura to be his girlfriend, and that’s exactly where their story began. For a year and a half, they tackled long distance between Virginia and Tennessee — lots of road trips, late-night calls, and countdowns to the next visit. By the end of 2023, Laura took the leap and moved to Roanoke. In October of ‘24, they bought their first home, making “home” officially wherever we’re together (with their fur babies, of course). Then, fast forwarding to January of 2025… came the Cayman Islands trip — his birthday trip, or so she thought... Turns out, it was a surprise engagement trip in disguise (classic Travis move). Laura knew he was “the one” long before that, though. On one of the many long distance trips they had to take turns doing, Travis was driving them through the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way to a hike. Laura looked over at him behind the wheel — the mountains rolling by, sunlight streaming in — and it hit her: "this is the man I’m going to spend the rest of my life with." What started as a swipe became a story… and now, the best chapter begins and you get to be a part of it!
