Maid of Honor
Rachel has the uncanny ability to make the bride laugh at any given moment. Literally, any moment, it's amazing. The two became best friends when they decided to build a scale model of a roller coaster entirely out of candy together in 10th grade math class. Since then, Rachel's been part of the family--she even went on vacation to the Caribbean with the Vanselous' one year. Rachel's favorite part, of course, was touching stuff she wasn't supposed to (the sea turtle, the wild donkeys, etc. etc.). Rachel is the reason why Sarah got her first and only detention in high school, but Sarah wouldn't give her up for anything.
Best Man
Austin is the type of person who will give you very sound life advice and then immediately challenge a complete stranger to a shirtless dance-off, which makes him a great choice for the one to help organize shenanigans before the wedding! Austin and Travis became fast friends playing rugby in Chapel Hill a few years ago when both of them were newly single. They both hit the jackpot soon after in finding new romance, and the four of them were soon inseparable. In fact, Travis will be standing up next to Austin on his big day just a few weeks before this one!.
Bridesmaid
Ashley and the bride lived together Freshman and Sophomore year of college; they met on one of those weird college roommate finders, the one that sort of feels like online dating but for someone to share late night Will and Grace marathons with. The algorithm must have gotten something right, because the two have been best friends ever since! Sarah feels completely herself around Ash, and couldn't imagine the big day without her...actually, the big day wouldn't be happening without her--she introduced the bride and groom!
Groomsman
Being the older brother of the groom, Cameron will be relied upon for imparting guidance and words of wisdom throughout the whole wedding process. Either that or he'll go crazy and throw some coolers on roofs, who knows?! With Cameron being just two and a half years older than Travis, they grew up doing a lot of things together. They were both cowboys early on and both basically lived at the golf course through middle and high school. Like all brothers, they might not have always seen eye to eye on everything, and there may be one golf-related accolade that Cameron still feels was unfairly stolen by Travis (he'll probably mention it at the wedding, he likes to bring it up A LOT), but Travis wouldn't be who he is without the brotherly love!
Bridesmaid
Soon to be Tamsyn Coon! This lovely girl stole the bride's heart at first meeting, and since then, they've had about a bajillion more great times. While the dudes have a very serious bromance going on, it's rivaled by the serious lady crushes these two share. They always seem to be in sync--in fact, Sarah will be helping Tamsyn get married just 3 short weeks before Sarah and Travis tie the knot!
Groomsman
Travis' parents got the idea for Davis' name from a famous golfer who is known for being calm, cool, and collected. Davis does not live up to his namesake. Being almost seven years younger than Travis, Davis grew up tagging along with the older brothers and learned to be wild and crazy in order to keep up. If there were wedding party superlatives, Davis would be voted most likely to blow something up during the pre-wedding fun. Don't take any of that as a negative though, Davis is always fun to be around and Travis is really excited for a lot of the guests to meet Davis for the first time. He'll definitely put the party in Bridal Party. P.S. Listen out for his toast, it's bound to be a good one!
Bridesmaid
Sam and Sarah have been "Sam and Sarah" since 6th grade, and pretty much answer to either name at this point. They bonded early over a shared love of horseback riding and community service, which eventually led to Sarah's decision to become a speech-language pathologist (thanks, Sam!). Sam is Sarah's artistic inspiration (seriously, she's amazing--she designed the wooden Save the Date that's on your fridge right now!) and has always been the best brainstorming partner. After partaking in Sam's wedding in early 2017, Sarah can't wait to have Sam be there for her as well!
Groomsman
Brendan and Travis immediately hit it off the first time Sarah brought Travis home to meet the family. They bonded quickly over poking fun at Sarah for her quirkiness, and have found many things in common since then. Sarah sometimes remarks that it's difficult to deal with Travis, Brendan, and Scott (the Father of the Bride) all in one room together, but she still can't wait for the most important reason to all be in the same room, the big day and the joining of families! Travis is very excited to be gaining another brother, and hopes that Brendan will continue to like him after he meets the rest of Travis' friends and family!
Bridesmaid
Hannah and Sarah also met in 6th grade, and have been best friends ever since they wore matching wigs in the most random Halloween costume that has ever been. Hannah has always been the best at lifting people up around her, and it is not uncommon to get a "little something" from her when you least expect it. Hannah is one of the kindest people the bride has ever known, and has an almost uncanny ability to find the cutest thing in a room. Sarah is honored that she's going to help her tie the knot!
Groomsman
Ben is one of Travis' oldest friends, as they met way back in middle school. They stayed connected through high school, college and beyond, with Travis being a groomsman in Ben's wedding a few years ago. Moving to Georgia was much easier for Travis and Sarah knowing that they already had friends in the area, as Ben and his wife, Mindy, lived just a short drive away from Macon. Ben's always been the skeptical influence in Travis' life, wondering if Travis had completely lost it when he started playing rugby or the first time he got a crazy haircut. Ben did give all his groomsmen crazy socks, though, so there must be some influence going both ways!
Bridesmaid
Caroline and Sarah met in a night class they were taking in addition to both working full time. Caroline passed Sarah a note, asking if they could be facebook friends. Naturally, Sarah said yes. The rest is history. Caroline makes every situation the most fun it possibly could be. In their friendship, Sarah is best at making lots and lots of gingerbread houses out of graham crackers, and Caroline is best at making giant Princess Castles out of the houses that weren't up to snuff. Clearly, they were made for one another.
Groomsman
Alex and Travis played rugby and lived together in college, and then the two of them spent a year in New Zealand afterwards. While there, they continued playing rugby and worked as bartenders, i.e. completely avoided starting grown-up jobs. Alex will be the funny-talker of the group, as he grew up in a land far away over the sea and for some reason insists on pronouncing aluminum and herb completely incorrectly. Travis is very excited for Alex to be a part of the wedding, and suggests to all the guest that they talk to Alex about his favorite book, Infinite Jest. Spoiler alert: it is Infinitely long and tedious.
Bridesmaid
Maddy met the bride one summer in Davidson. Sarah was the "townie" and Maddy was studying in a bio lab for the summer. Somehow, the two ended up meeting and spent almost every day together that summer, soaking in the sun and belting out "Wild at Heart" at random increments. Sarah and Maddy have stayed close, despite time and distance, and now live a mere hour (and a half, but we're not counting) away from one another. Maddy always knows just what to say, and Sarah is super excited to share this special day with her!
Groomsman
We're hoping for good weather on the big day, and the sky always seems Bleuer when Dave is around. We promise Dave is not included in the wedding party solely for that pun opportunity, but it was definitely a factor. Dave was the one lucky roommate who got to pretty much live with both Travis and Sarah before they moved to Georgia (Wood lived there too, but who knows where that guy ever was?). He'll tell you he hated that year, but we all know it was the best time of his life! Dave is a great friend and Travis is holding out hope that he'll show up with the mustache in full form.
Groomsman
David and Travis have been great friends since the first time David stepped on the rugby field at UNC. Having absolutely no clue what he was doing, he somehow managed to score the game-winning try and get a mild concussion in one unceremonious motion . They lived together for a year in college, and Travis worked with David for a while helping him build tools for his business. David's warehouse was the setting for Travis' Thumb-pocalypse of 2015, and his picture was selected as a nod to that fateful day. On a lighter note, if any guests are looking for entertainment/hilarity on the dance floor, David's your guy.
