Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Sarah Vanselous and Travis Spencer
Come for the wedding, but stay for Savannah! There's a reason we picked this little spot of heaven to say, "I do," in. These are some of our favorite spots, but there are countless others. Think of Savannah as a mix between Charleston and Asheville--lots of southern charm, with it's own quirky art scene. There's definitely something for everyone!

Wormsloe Historic Site

7601 Skidaway Road, Savannah, GA 31406
, (912) 353-3023

We almost had this be our ceremony site. It's unbelievably beautiful! Cost of entry is $10, and includes miles of trails around the park, with lots of history and ocean views.

City Market

City Market

219 West Bryan Street, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 232-4903

Great place for perusing and grabbing some lunch. Casual place for window shopping and buying the occasional gift. Most often, you'll find live music here and a good slice of pizza.

Moon River Brewing Company

Moon River Brewing Company

21 W Bay St., Savannah, GA 31401

Come have a beer where we had a beer. We stopped in to watch the UNC-Duke game (of course) on our way to celebrate with our friends the night of our engagement.

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist

222 East Harris Street, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 233-4709

Beautiful church alert! Come to see the spires, but stay for the square. Everything around this beauty is gorgeous and so "Savannah."

River Street Shops

River Street Shops

River Street, Savannah, GA 31401

Beautiful and touristy, River Street offers a glimpse at just how many street levels the city of Savannah is made up of. Expect scary stairs, beautiful live oaks, and the best seafood around.

Ships Of The Sea Maritime Museum

41 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 232-1511

The museum has cool ships to see and has a small entry fee, but the gardens are free and beautiful this time of year.

Artillery

307 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401

Looking for a super cool place to get your Savannah on? Look no further than Artillery. Super cool, super retro, super fly. Get a Manhattan for us!

Jere's Antiques

Jere's Antiques

9 Jefferson Street, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 236-2815

Trav and Sarah love to find gems in antique shops wherever they go, and this one takes the cake. Jere's is a great way to kill an hour or so while you're waiting to join the festivities!

Forsyth Park

Drayton Street, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 351-3837

Quintessential Savannah. Meander around the park enjoying the fountains, or play a pickup game of rugby. Sometimes there's live music. This was the planned spot for Travis to pop the question, but he just couldn't wait. A really great corner of Savannah!

Savannah Bee Company

1 West River Street, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 234-7088

This store has everything you never knew you wanted. Mead tastings are a must, but their lip balm and specialty honeys are to die for! All the shops around the Savannah Bee Company are very cool as well. Expect great shopping!

Leopold's Ice Cream

212 East Broughton Street, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 234-4442

No trip to Savannah is complete without a little ice cream--this is the south, after all! Cool off with a bite at Leopold's before heading to the ceremony site.

Savannah Ghost Tours: Haunted Savannah

6 West Harris Street, Savannah, GA 31401
, (912) 257-8560

We've never done this, but it's on our list! We've heard amazing things about this tour. Just don't get too spooked!

For all the days along the way
