We first met back in 2019 at Boise State University, both working as athletic trainers and doing our best to keep up with the craziness of college athletics. We were friendly, but definitely not looking for anything more. Just two ATCs trying to survive long days, endless practices and treatment sessions, and the occasional ankle tape marathon. Then COVID hit, and everything shut down. Suddenly we had way more free time than we knew what to do with, and that’s honestly when our friendship really started. We hung out and found ways to make that weird time actually enjoyable. That summer, we floated the Boise River on an air mattress (because why not?) and going out to explore local watering holes like Bardenay, which quickly became one of “our places.” Somewhere between those lazy river days, nights grabbing drinks, and watching Pac-12 After Dark (Go Devils!) something shifted—and it felt easy and natural. We made the relationship official on in February of 2021. In April 2021, Trav left for an internship with the Indianapolis Colts, which meant… long distance. Not exactly the easiest thing, but we made it work with FaceTime, long weekend visits, and A LOT of patience. It honestly made us stronger, and we had a fun adventure in Indy. Fast forward to 2023, and we finally got to live in the same place again when Travis moved back to Boise, and started working at OffTheField as a sports performance coach. Moving in together just felt right—we were finally building a life in the same zip code again. Now here we are: Still exploring Boise, still finding new adventures, still laughing at each other daily. I’ve somehow become a Packers fan (still unsure how that happened), and we’ve gotten through every high and low life has thrown at us so far. And then came December 21, 2024, the day Travis completely surprised me with the sweetest engagement. I had absolutely no idea it was coming, which made it even more perfect. From floating rivers on an air mattress to planning a wedding—this is our story, and we couldn’t be happier where we ended up.
