Krista and Travis first met in 2019 at Boise State University, where they were both working as athletic trainers and doing their best to keep up with the craziness of college athletics. They were friendly, but definitely were not looking for anything more at the time. They were simply two ATCs trying to survive long days, endless practices and treatment sessions, and the occasional ankle taping marathon. Then COVID hit, and everything shut down. Suddenly, they had more free time than they knew what to do with, and that was when their friendship really began to grow. They spent more time together and found ways to make such a strange season of life genuinely enjoyable. That summer, they floated the Boise River on an air mattress, because why not? They also explored local watering holes like Bardenay, which quickly became one of “their places.” Somewhere between lazy river days, nights grabbing drinks, and watching Pac-12 After Dark (Go Devils!) something shifted. It all felt easy and natural, and in February 2021, they officially became a couple. In April 2021, Travis left for an internship with the Indianapolis Colts, which meant taking on long distance. It was not always easy, but they made it work through FaceTime calls, long weekend visits, and a lot of patience. The experience ultimately made their relationship stronger and gave them some fun memories in Indy along the way. Fast forward to 2023, when Travis moved back to Boise and began working at OffTheField as a sports performance coach. Finally living in the same place again felt right, and moving in together marked the beginning of building a life in the same zip code once more. Now, Krista and Travis are still exploring Boise, still finding new adventures, and still making each other laugh every day. Somewhere along the way, Krista even became a Packers fan, although she is still not entirely sure how that happened. Together, they have supported each other through every high and low life has brought their way. Then came December 21, 2024, when Travis completely surprised Krista with the sweetest engagement. She had absolutely no idea it was coming, which made the moment even more perfect. From floating the Boise River on an air mattress to planning their wedding, this is their story, and they could not be happier with where it has led them.
