Kayla and Travis met in Fall 2013 while working together at a pizza restaurant in Portland. Before they fell madly in love you could usually find them dancing in the kitchen to Jason Derulo, drinking $3 mimosas after their shift, or romping around the Portland dives. Fast forward to Winter 2017, their friendship grew into romance while watching season 3 of Twin Peaks and eating lots and lots of cheeseburger pizza. They knew the immediate chemistry they felt when they first met had turned into something more. When their friends found out they started dating, nobody was too surprised. Soon after they started dating in February 2018, Travis was offered a job in DC, and while it was difficult, Kayla supported his move and they continued dating long distance. She would visit for long weekends and holidays. Travis took her on his famous DC monuments tour (10/10 would recommend!) and introduced her to the city that they now both love. When Kayla finished school in 2019, she joined Travis in DC where they have built an amazing life filled with pets, friends, love, and fun. They have enjoyed countless trivia and board game nights, rooftop cookouts, movie watch parties, and plenty of other happy moments together that are impossible to capture in 4,000 characters. In true Travis and Kayla fashion, he proposed in costume, dressed up as a 1920s gangster and Kayla as his main squeeze, after a murder-mystery night in celebration of Kayla's 30th birthday! They were surrounded by friends from all chapters of their lives who were just as surprised and excited as Kayla. She of course said yes, after telling Travis to actually get down on one knee. The couple could not be more happy to celebrate their love with all of you in May 2025!
