We highly suggest staying at Pueblo Bonito Sunset since all of the wedding events for the weekend will be taking place here. This resort is all inclusive and gives you access to all the Pueblo Bonito resorts in Mexico where you can also eat and drink there for free while enjoying all of the amenities they have to offer.
You must use the link given in the Travel tab on our webpage to book a room and get the discount. You will have to pay full price if you do not book through that link. Contact Alee Travis or our Wedding planner if you have any questions regarding booking.
Airfare: For the best airfare costs, I suggest using Google flights and setting alerts for when flights go on sale. As someone who works for an airline, there will be discounts on these flights, and there are opportune times to purchase airfare, so take advantage of that! Transportation in Mexico: We have preferred transportation services listed on the transportation tab that we recommend everyone book through. If you do a shared service outside of the hotel, understand that it might elongate your travels as you will be stopping at other Cabo resorts along the way. Another great way to get around Cabo is by renting a vehicle. All parking is free at the resort.
If you fly into the main Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) the resort is 30 miles away. This will take around 45 minutes for you to get to the resort unless you do a shared ride service outside of the hotel which could extend the drive. We suggest flying into here since there are multiple daily flights a day in and out of this airport. If you fly into the smaller airport Cabo San Lucas International, the resort is about 10 miles away.
If you have not been out of the country and/or unfamiliar with Mexico, do not fret! Cabo is such a welcoming city and has so many wonderful attractions and activities to take part in while you are here. All the locals and resort employees are unbelievably friendly and will make you feel right at home (but with a much better view, and unlimited food and drinks.) Things to note for best travel tips: 1. You will need a passport to travel to the Mexico 2. Arriving back to the US after traveling through Mexico, you will have to enter customs. This can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours on average dependent on what airport you are flying back into. - If you see yourself internationally traveling more in the next few years, I strongly advise on getting Global Entry - It will CHANGE your life. This allows you to skip the entire customs line and you will get TSA PreCheck for 5 years along with this membership. See link here for more details: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry
In June, the weather will be in the low to mid 80s during the day. At night the weather will be a bit cooler and windier in the low 70s so be prepared to bring a light jacket or sweater for the evening.
Your credit card and/or debit card will be accepted at most stores and locations throughout the Cabo area. As always, it is a best practice to bring cash when visiting a foreign country. American dollars are accepted everywhere, but if you wish to exchange for Pesos, I suggest doing this at your local bank as the fees are typically over 10% when exchanging currency at the airport.
When arriving to the Cabo airport, you will fill out a customs form and need your passport to exit the airport. Once picking up your luggage at baggage claim, you will then enter customs where your bag will get scanned, and you will need to show your passport along with the form you filled out. The line usually is not long and should not take you more than 10 minutes. Once through customs, you will enter a room where there are a lot of folks flagging you down to help you with travel or excursions. Please ignore all of them and head out of the building to find either the rental car shuttle or your shuttle/transportation service that you booked. They will sometimes ask you to visit with someone before you leave, just say you are here for a wedding and need to get to your transportation asap. Once out of the airport, you will find that those individuals can help point you in the right direction to your appropriate transportation service.
We are asking that our guests wear semi-formal attire. Men: Suits are preferred, or sports coat with nice slacks. Women: Floor length dresses are preferred or nice cocktail attire. Groomsmen will be in full suits, and bridesmaid in floor length dresses.
Check-in at the resort is typically at 3:30pm, however, they will allow you to take advantage of the resort and the All-inclusive package as soon as you arrive. They will hold all of your luggage while you enjoy the resort. There is a great bar in the lobby that overlooks the entire resort you can enjoy beverages at and a restaurant on the floor below if you want to stay close!
