We're getting married!

Unfortunately, neither of us remembers meeting each other. We have at least pinned it down to the period of time when Big River was playing at the Alhambra Theatre & Dining in the spring of 2016; Ashton was visiting home from college and Travis worked in the box office and as an actor. For a few years, we remained coworkers and friends, though most people close to us teased us about one day being more.

We have a bit of a disagreement on the timeline for our first date, but we consider our first kiss to be our official anniversary. We were at Travis's watching some terrible 80's movie (or a cult classic, depending on who you ask). At one point that evening Ashton texted her future Maid of Honor, Jordan, that Travis might be about to kiss her! She quickly replied, "[redacted] kiss him back!!!" Ashton still lived in Orlando at the time and Travis was in Jacksonville, so we made a point to visit each other every couple of weeks. The time and distance never made either of us doubt we had found the one. Two years later, Ashton finally moved back to Jacksonville so that we would never have to say goodbye again.

We made plans to go see Miracle on 34th Street at the Alhambra Theatre & Dining with our families a few days before Christmas. Just before the show started, our boss was doing his usual pre-show announcements and at the last minute he asked Ashton to come help him with the raffle to give away a bag of chocolates. The moment she was pulled on stage, Ashton knew exactly what was coming! We have a video above of the special moment.
