Thirteen years in the making, forever to go.

Travis and Jesslyn met in the tenth grade at Hahnville High School in Ms. Baudot's Honors English class. In fact, Jesslyn made the first move and asked Travis for homework help (when she really didn't need it!). She got his number and started texting him as soon as she got on the bus home from school that day. The two talked every day, at all hours, for a few months following. On the evening of November 24, 2010, with the encouragement of a good friend, Jesslyn decided to ask Travis to be her boyfriend. He didn't give her an answer until they got off the phone at 5am the next morning, November 25th, 2010. Obviously he said yes!

Travis and Jesslyn started working with their jeweler in December 2022 to craft the perfect engagement ring. Despite being involved in the process, Jesslyn was still completely surprised on the evening of February 24, 2023 when Travis officially proposed. After a really tough day at work, Jesslyn wanted crawfish for dinner, so Travis volunteered to stop for some on his way home. However, along with the crawfish, Travis brought home a cheesecake and two bouquets of flowers. Jesslyn assumed that these were her surprises to cheer her up and thought nothing of it. After bringing the flowers into the kitchen and placing them on the counter, Jesslyn turned around to find Travis on one knee in the kitchen, pulling the ring box out of his pocket. When she finally realized what was happening, she started laughing at how absolutely oblivious she was to all of the signs and said "of course I will!"

Travis and Jesslyn's wedding will be a reflection of their love and commitment to each other and a celebration of their unique journey. It will also be a celebration of their thirteenth year together. Though it may not be traditional, they hope that you will enjoy the evening and be as present with them as you can be.
