Fun Zone Arcade & Game Room
This is where the reception is. There is a lot of fun things to do before the party and the next day, including a ferris wheel, food stalls, whale watching trips, T-shirt shops.
Balboa Island Ferry
In the Fun Zone area, this is a great way to get over to Balboa Island without the fuss of having your car. Or better yet, rent a bike at the Fun Zone and take your bike on the ferry and ride around the island! Karl and I did that and it was so much fun!
Newport Beach Bike Rentals
This is very close to Balboa Inn and next to the Balboa Ferry. Rent bikes to ride either along the beach or take the ferry across to Balboa Island and explore.
Balboa Island
Take the ferry from the Fun Zone on foot and explore the island with beautiful homes. The Main Street has shops and restaurants. You don't need a car! Ferry costs about $1.25 for pedestrians.
Newport Harbor Boat Rentals
If you like to spend time in the water, another fun thing to do is rent "duffys" and ride around Newport Habor.
Lido Isle
This area has some high-end shopping and nice restaurants on the harbor. For those staying at the Lido House, this is in the same area.
Newport Pier
This is the other pier on the other side of the beach, where Blackie's bar is, and also has T-shirt shops and outdoor dining options.
Blackie's By the Sea
This is a very local place right on the beach that's been around for a long time. Karl's favorite bar!
Knotts Berry Farm
Everyone knows about Disneyland, but Knott's Berry Farm is a hidden gem. And right across the street is Porto's, an awesome Cuban bakery.
San Diego
About 2 hour drive from Newport Beach. Best Mexican food for those coming from East Coast. Also has one of the best zoos in the country!
Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee
Best doughnuts! Get the chocolate or salted butter ones. Trust us; you’ll thank us later. We will have some on the dessert table for you to try.
Fill Bakeshop
Best mochi doughnuts with some very unique flavors. Our favorite is the guava one. We will also be having some at our dessert table.
In-N-Out Burger
Our favorite West Coast burger joint. We try to go whenever we are in the LA area. For those on East Coast, you have to try it and let us know how it compares to Shake Shack or some of the other chains.
