We honestly think this is a story that we never would have guessed would end this way... Vito started coming to Tahoe on ski trips with his buddies every winter starting around 2014. After maybe a winter or two, they finally stumbled upon Tracy's family's diner, Bert's Cafe. This became a staple for each trip thereafter. Naturally, the Georgia guys became some of Bert's seasonal "regulars" and were recognized and greeted each year because they are so dang southern and friendly! It wasn't until 2017 that one of Vito's buddies asked Tracy if she wanted to go ski with them the next day. First of all, Tracy doesn't ever give out her number. Secondly, these guys are from Georgia - can they REALLY ski? :) But, these guys were different. They were friendly, not necessarily strangers, and really seemed to be asking in a friendly gesture, so she gave them her number. (Little did Tracy know, that the previous season, Vito made a promise to "see about that girl next year") So, Tracy was at Happy Hour when Vito called, and was so excited to hear it was him on the line. She had had a glass of wine (or two), and had the courage to actually make plans to meet at their cabin the next morning. After the first day of Vito packing sandwiches for them, falling off the ski lift, and having a great time, they spent the remainder of the week skiing, touring Lake Tahoe, and getting to know each other. Before Vito left, he asked if he could come back sometime soon. Tracy of course agreed, and he came back two weeks later. She had a trip planned to the Bahamas a month later, and she got off of her layover in Atlanta to visit Vito. From there, it was a lot of back and forth, and without knowing it, or planning it, it just happened. Neither of us would ever have guessed that it would work out like it has, but lucky for the both of us that it did. Who woulda thought? After 2 years of long distance, and 2 more in Tahoe, we now have forever together, and look forward to what's next!
