Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins

Owned by friends of ours, the Wrong Way lodge is a spectacular example of not only how to support local business, but also of resilience; the lodge was severely damaged during Hurricane Helene in September 2024, and has made an amazing comeback since. We'd love to suggest you consider staying at this fun, funky place on the river for our wedding, and to support local business in Asheville. If the Hampton Inn is not your jam, we recommend exploring the many wonderful AirBnBs in Asheville. The city is fairly small, so it doesn't take long to drive or Uber to/from the wedding venues.

Flight

Asheville Airport (AVL)

AVL will be the easiest and most convenient airport to fly into. AVL is only 20 minutes by car to downtown Asheville, though rush-hour travel can impact travel time. Click the "View" link below to see the Google Maps location of the AVL airport in relation to downtown.

Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP)

Greenville, SC airport (GSP) is the next closest airport after AVL. If you fly into GSP, you'll need to rent a car to drive the ~1.5 hours to Asheville. Click the "View" link below to see the location of this airport on Google Maps.

Travel Note

Transportation within Asheville

It is easy to travel between the wedding event locations with Uber or Lyft, but you may choose to rent a car to fully take advantage of the area (especially if you'd like to drive into the mountains for a waterfall hike!). Car rental companies are located near the AVL airport and throughout Asheville proper.
