Question

Purgatory Elevation - Important Notes

Answer

The mountain base elevation at Purgatory is 8,793 feet and Dante's for the ceremony and reception is at 10,800 feet! It's important to keep in mind that alcohol will affect you differently at elevation. Don't forget to hydrate and stay safe!

Question

Is there a map of Purgatory?

Answer

Purgatory Mountain Base Map - https://shorturl.at/dFQJQ Welcome Party at Purgy's See where your lodging is if staying at the Base Area Plaza (The Purgatory Lodge, Village Center, Kendall, Eolus, Pergrine Point) Shuttles to Dante's (Ceremony + Reception site) depart from the Arrival Court

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore children, we've made the decision to keep our wedding and all planned events an adults-only affair. We hope you understand and appreciate your support in making our day special!

Question

Will there be transportation provided to the wedding & reception venue?

Answer

Yes! The wedding and reception will be at Dante's - the mountain top at Purgatory Resort. With that, all guests will walk to the meeting spot at the Purgatory Resort base Arrival Court (or if driving from nearby lodging, park in available parking at the base) and will be shuttled to Dante's, as required by the venue. Shuttles depart from the base at 3:10pm promptly - DO NOT BE LATE! Riding in the shuttle is required, and personal cars may not be driven. There will not be another shuttle to the top of the mountain. Shuttles will be provided back to the base throughout the reception at 8:30pm, 9:45pm, and at the end of the night at 10:45pm.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We highly encourage all guests to stay on the mountain at Purgatory Resort (at least during the wedding weekend events on Thursday and Friday night) as opposed to within the town of Durango as the commute to the mountain from town is about 30 minutes. As wedding guests, you qualify for discounted lodging at Purgatory Resort. Find more details on the Travel and Accommodations page with the direct link to the booking site and instructions for using the discount code. We recommend Purgatory Lodge/Peregrine Point, Purgatory Village, and Sheol Street lodging which are walking distance to the activities, including the shuttle to the ceremony site, and reception venue. Selecting Cascade Village or Townhomes/Homes may require a short 3-5 minute drive to the Purgatory Resort base area. While some lodging offers one bedroom and studio options, many are two or more bedrooms, so consider booking a room with friends and family!

Question

What is the dress code for the welcome party and for the wedding?

Answer

The Welcome Party on Thursday night will be cocktail attire. Our Wedding and Reception on Friday is a formal event / black-tie optional. Floor-length gowns, tuxedos, dark pantsuits or midi cocktail dresses all work. Avoid overly casual clothing like jeans or sneakers.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors on the lawn, cocktail hour outdoors on the deck, and the reception will be inside Dante's. Consider your shoe / heel choice for the brief walk on grass and the grated steps leading up to the deck. Weather should be relatively mild and pleasant 60-75 degrees in Colorado in September during the day, but will be slightly chilly when the sun goes down.

Question

What type of food will be served?

Answer

We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner during the reception. Please select your preferred entree when you RSVP (or we will choose for you)!

Question

How do I RSVP? When is the deadline?

Answer

Kindly RSVP by August 1st. Click “RSVP” in the navigation menu. Enter your first and last name, and make sure you enter it the same way that it appears on your invitation (formal first and last name). If you're RSVPing for you and a guest (or your family), you'll be able to RSVP for the entire group by entering only your first and last name.
