A larger satellite museum of the Air & Space Museum. If you love planes, space, history, and flight, this is a must-see. You'll need a car or to take an Uber.

National Gallery of Art

Admission is free. You can take the Metro. There are 2 wings housed in 2 neighboring buildings. (Older art in 1, contemporary art in the other). They're connected by an underground tunnel with a gift shop.

United States Botanic Garden

Shenandoah National Park

It's definitely a day trip, at minimum, but so worth it! You can drive along Skyline Drive and take in the beauty of Shenandoah from the comfort of your car. The North Entrance is at Front Royal, and it goes allllllllll the way South to meet the Blueridge Parkway.
