Travel Note
Denver International Airport (DEN) is the largest and easiest airport option and is roughly a 2.5-hour drive. Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is the closest airport to Nathrop and is recommended by the venue for less traffic. It is a smaller airport and may be more expensive, and it's roughly a 2-hour drive. The easiest way to travel to Nathrop from the airport is to rent a car. If you'd like to carpool, please let us know and we can help you arrange that with some other guests. One thing to keep in mind is that many folks travel to the mountains during the weekend, so if you plan to drive in on Friday, we suggest you leave before 3pm to avoid traffic. For those flying out Sunday, we suggest you plan for the drive to the airport to take up to an extra hour.
Travel Note
We recommend booking your lodging as soon as possible. September is peak wedding season and getting close to leaf-peeping season, so the Arkansas River Valley will be very crowded. Below are some recommendations for lodging in the area. We don't have a room block at any hotels because we want everyone to have the option to book something that works best for their situation and budget. As of April 2026 a lot of lodging in the area is already booked, so we recommend looking through multiple sites, locations and dates to find something available. The best places to look are Buena Vista (~20 minute drive) and Salida (~30 minute drive).
House Or Rental
There are several Airbnbs and VRBOs available in the vicinity of the venue, but these should be booked quickly because September is a popular travel month in Colorado. One important note is that cell service can be spotty on Chalk Creek Drive. Many places offer WiFi, but if cell service is important to you, we recommend looking for lodging in Buena Vista or Salida.
Hotel
This resort is where Kevin and I got engaged and is just a few minutes down the road from Deer Valley Ranch. They offer both hotel-style rooms and cabins/suites with kitchens. Their lodging is definitely on the pricier side, but each night's stay includes two day passes to their hot springs, which we absolutely recommend visiting whether you stay here or not! As of April, there is some space still available here. But I apologize if there's nothing left by the time you look!
