We're getting married!

The couple met in their first semester at Rutgers Law School but didn't get a chance to talk much at first. AJ sat towards the back of class and Brittany stayed pretty focused at the front. It wasn't until he grabbed a seat next to her in their second semester that they really started to connect - he joined in on late night classroom snack sharing and soon they began flexing their quick wits via texts (and email)! Unfortunately, their journey to love was stalled a bit as COVID-19 brought the world to a halt - they were set to meet up for dinner during spring break that second semester but just before it happened the city entirely locked down. A few months later AJ finally asked Brittany on a makeup date (that she thought was just friendly drinks). He took her to an awesome greek restaurant and midway through this date/friendly hang he grabbed her face and started kissing her. She may have been a bit surprised by his move but was already absolutely wooed. They spent the rest of the evening laughing over great food and the rest is history... :)

For some context, just before Brittany’s 8th birthday, her father, Leroy, passed away. Leroy was always drawn to the Enchanted Rock, a granite mountain deep in the heart of Texas, having visited it often throughout his life. In his memory, his family chose this special place to honor him and spread his ashes. That said, Brittany was in TX for a mini vacation and thought she was going on a hike with her family at the Enchanted Rock. She hadn’t visited in some time and had a lot to reflect on since the last time she was last there (missing the connection with her dad, moving to NYC, graduating law school, passing the bar, etc…). Brittany thought she would meet up with AJ after he flew in to Austin later that evening BUT IN REALITY he had already flown into Texas a couple days earlier setting up a surprise. Shortly after Brittany started the hike up the Enchanted Rock with her family AJ appeared with roses, got on his knee, and asked THE question, “Will you marry me?” There was zero hesitation to her “yes!” But the surprise wasn’t over, AJ planned an elaborate surprise proposal weekend at Trois Estate, a unique bed and breakfast just outside the Enchanted Rock, with some of their closest friends and family that flew and drove in to celebrate with them all weekend. Brittany couldn’t have dreamt of a better proposal, a better partner, or have expected the sheer amount of love from the friends and family who were there to celebrate with them. The ring was pretty danged perfect too!! The weekend was absolutely wonderful all around!!!
