What to Wear: Costumes encouraged, Casual Attire accepted. Dan & Kat will be dressed as the Bride & Groom of Frankenstein.

What to Expect: A casual pre-festivities gathering followed by the Wild Rumpus (https://wildrumpus.org/), a family-friendly costume parade before an outdoor dance party with vendors. Cali N Titos is a pan-latin restaurant. Order what suits you when you arrive - card and cash are accepted. Travel Info: There is parking at Cali N Titos. Downtown park in the College Ave Parking Deck (289 College Ave). Covid Info: Both Cali N Titos & the Downtown festivities open-air/outside except for ordering at Cali N Titos. Both may be crowded and masks are optional. Access Info: Cali N Titos serves vegetarian & meat options (https://www.athensmenus.com/cali_n_titos_menu.pdf) and has a single-stall restroom. Seating is picnic tables on a deck or pebble gravel terrain. Wild Rompus involves about a half mile of walking and a good amount of standing. Consider bringing a camping chair if standing for a long time is a challenge. The dance party usually also involves fog machines and laser lights.

Aufruf / Pre-Wedding Ritual

What to Wear: Your “Sunday Best.” Dan & Kat will be wearing nice slacks/skirt and a button-up.

What to Expect: Join us for this traditional pre-ceremony Jewish ritual, an Aufruf, where Dan & Kat will be honored before the community and you will have the opportunity to throw candy at them. Services will be held 9:00-11:30, followed by a light lunch at a nearby park. To learn more about an Aufruf see FAQs. Travel Info: A 5 minute walk from the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro Station. If driving, parallel park on nearby streets. Parking is typically free. Covid Info: Please take a rapid test before you attend. Masking is required indoors. Services require full vaccination. The post-service lunch will be outside. Access Info: The space is on the third floor and is fully wheelchair accessible. There is a large elevator. There are two single-stall bathrooms. There are two large capacity HVAC units that create good air circulation as well as two floor unit air purifiers. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available.

Queer Kabbalistic Hair Ritual

What to wear: Casual Attire - Anything goes, Dan & Kat will likely be wearing jeans and a sweater. Layers encouraged.

What to Expect: A casual backyard hangout with snacks, where you will be witness and take part in a Queer Kabbalistic hair ritual lead by Romeo Romero & Ollie Schwartz where Kat will shave their head. Travel Info: You'll turn off Kennedy Road onto a gravel driveway for about 2 minutes which takes you up a little hill. Go to the end of the road, to the top of the hill, and keep to the right at the fork where it points to 426. Park along the side of the driveway, both sides are great. Come around the left side of the house to the deck. Covid Info: This event will take place entirely outdoors. We ask that you wear a mask when not eating. Access Info: You'll move over some lawn/grass which is mostly flat, and then there are 5 steps up to the deck. There is a lot of bench seating as well as camping chairs. There is a bathroom on the main floor directly inside. Please wear a mask in the house. There will be vegetarian and gluten-free options available.

Kabbalat Shabbat & Oneg

What to Wear: Your “Sunday Best.” Dan & Kat will be wearing nice slacks/skirt and a button-up.

What to Expect: A Friday Night traditional Kabbalat Shabbat Service followed by a dessert reception. Services start at 6:30 and end at 8. We plan to hold the dessert reception outside, but may move inside depending on the weather. Travel Info: There is street parking near the building. It is about 0.6 miles from the Green Street and Forest Hills stations on the Orange Line. The 38, 39, and 41 buses also stop right in front of the main entrance. COVID Info: Attendees must all wear high-filtration masks indoors. The synagogue uses an honor system with the expectation that all who are eligible to be vaccinated will do so prior to attending events. More about the policy at www.neharshalomjp.org/general-9. Access Info: The side entrance (Eliot Street) has a wheelchair-accessible ramp. There are stairs in the building to some rooms, but not ones we will use. There are two single-stall, non-gendered, accessible restrooms on the main floor. We plan to include vegan and gluten-free food.

What to wear: Casual Attire - Anything goes, Dan & Kat will likely be wearing jeans and a sweater

What to expect: A cozy song circle of less than 20 people hosted by Kat's co-worker and chevruta Ali Rice. Travel Info: The home is an 8 min walk from Porter Square Station on the Red Line T. If you are traveling by car you can park on Beacon St on metered spots about 5 min walk way. There is also limited driveway parking to inquire, text Kat. Covid Info: You will be asked to take a rapid test before entering and then we will be mask optional. Access Info: There are 6 steep steps to the front door (with handrail) and then a curved flight of stairs to the first floor where we will be and where the bathroom is located. The hosts' home is not kosher. There is also a very nice cat who live here who will likely be hiding during the event.
