FAQs

The Wedding Website of Daniel Graves and Mark LaPlante
Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Black Tie Requested.

Question

What does Black Tie Requested mean?

Answer

For a Black Tie Requested wedding, men are asked to wear a tuxedo, but it's not a requirement. If you end up going tuxedo-less, though, you should wear a formal dark suit and tie instead. Women can go the long evening gown route, but a dressy suit or shorter cocktail dress is fine too.

Question

Any suggestions on where I can buy or rent a gown or a tuxedo?

Answer

We understand that a black tie affair is a bit of a luxury and can be expensive. There are several good options for an affordable evening that will still have you looking lux. For the ladies, RentTheRunway.com is a website that allows for you to rent gowns at an affordable price as opposed to purchasing a dress. Men, most of you have rented a tuxedo before whether for prom or another wedding. In addition to the popular options of Men's Wearhouse or Al's Formalwear, CombatGent.com offers tuxedos to purchase that cost about the same price as it does to rent!

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

The sooner the better! But we ask that you please RSVP by September 21, 2020.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

Parking is very limited at the venue as it is downtown. There are some paid parking lots surrounding the venue that range from $5-$7. However, we highly recommend that our guests utilize ride-share services like Uber or Lyft from your home or hotel we will have an open bar!

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We ask that our guests refrain from taking pictures during the wedding ceremony so that everyone can enjoy the special moment. However, during our cocktail hour and reception, we would love for you to be able to take pictures and make memories. We want to be able to enjoy those memories as well so use our wedding hashtag: #ToTheGraves

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

I'm not feeling all that well, should I still try to come?

Answer

We kindly ask all of our guests to self-screen before coming to our wedding. Check for the following symptoms of COVID-19: Cough Shortness of Breath Sore Throat Loss of Taste or Smell Chills Muscle Pain Fever Headache Known contact with an individual who has tested positive. If you have the above symptoms, we kindly request that you abstain from attending in order to keep the rest of our guests safe. However, you will be greatly missed and would love to still hear from you on our special day.

Question

What precautions are being taken to minimize the risk of spread of COVID-19?

Answer

Thankfully, we have a fairly large venue and our guest count is well under the 50% capacity limit instituted by the State. Additionally, we will be organizing a seating chart to keep families together and limit the number of people at one table to make it easier to socially distance. The staff servicing food and drinks will be wearing masks and gloves due to their continuous exposure to all of our guests. The venue will also be equipped with several hand sanitizing stations, which we encourage all our guests to utilize throughout the night. The venue will also have some indications of spacing for lines to the bars.

Question

Do I have to wear a mask?

Answer

A mask will be required to enter the Carlisle Room and should be worn when socially distancing is impossible (like they ceremony). We do ask that all guests try to use good judgment in utilizing their masks for their safety and for the safety of other guests. A mask can also be a great way to spice up your black tie ensemble! Don't be afraid to make a statement!

Question

I RSVPed to the April wedding that was postponed. Do I need to re-RSVP?

Answer

Yes. Please re-RSVP to ensure that we have an accurate headcount of guests who will be attending.
