The scene: December 2020 - I had spent Fall talking to guys, occasional dates and finding a lot of Mr. Wrongs on dating apps. On the verge of giving up after a failed possible relationship, I re-joined the dating app scene. Mostly out of boredom - my profile literally said "Silly, excited and occasionally anxious. Wife me".... don't judge me, it worked didn't it? Then on December 15th Matt said those two magic words "Hello Beautiful". I know, I know, it wasn't anything very original, but I was intrigued. We talked basically nonstop for around three weeks before our schedules actually lined up for us to meet. Our first few dates were super low-key - we watched Scooby Doo (my fave), talked and cuddled - but they were perfect, and on January 10th we officially started dating. Within the first few months of dating we tackled a major renovation project in building what is now our bedroom at my parent's house. Talk about trial by fire in a relationship. But it was during this time that our love really bloomed and by the time I moved in we both knew we were meant to be. During that time we saw each other at our bests and worsts. Things ended up moving pretty quickly from there. Basically, we just "clicked". By the start of Summer my family and friends were asking about wedding bells. In July, Matt gave me a promise ring for my birthday and we talked more seriously about a wedding. He officially proposed on September 18th 2021 while at Aamodt's Apple Orchard with my parents, my sister Kaylee and her boyfriend. It has been my greatest joy to watch Matt become part of my world and becoming part of each others families. Each day has had its own set of challenges with the state of the world, a pandemic, loss, major family surgeries, a vacation, opposite work schedules and wedding planning. But in this time there has been no shortage of joy, smiles, laughter, teasing, and most importantly, love. We can't wait to celebrate the joining of our lives with you!
