The day was May 13, 2019. A group of friends were hanging out in the outfield during a rain delay, hoping the game would get started eventually. Javy worked at Yankee Stadium at the time and our friend, Nicky, invited him to stop by to say hi to everyone. He came by, we said hi, and thought nothing of it. As the weeks and months went on, we became best friends. We would hang out with our friends together. We would watch many Yankee games. We went to an amazing Aventura concert. We even coached a softball team together (and won the championship)! One thing we knew for sure and that was that we enjoyed making memories together and we always had so much fun! We both had a few difficult years that followed that initial meeting and we were right by each other's side through it all. However, never in our wildest dreams did we think anything would happen between us. We were best friends. However, little did we know what God had up his sleeve. One summer night in August 2022, Javy sent a text to a group chat with our best friends saying, "The woman I marry needs to have 6 bridesmaids because I have 6 groomsmen in mind." I then followed up saying, "That's funny because I have 6 too." From one day to the next and one little text sent, everything changed. We spent the next few days talking about everything we wanted to achieve in life and what we were looking for. We couldn't believe it; everything aligned! It's safe to say that we have been inseparable since. We didn't see it then, but looking back now, how did we miss it? When we needed advice, we reached out to one another first. When we were sad, we wanted to be there for one another. When we were excited about something, we wanted to share it with each other. We would spend hours and hours texting and on Facetime. The entire time we thought we were just best friends, but little did we know... God really paved the way. God took the time to heal our hearts. God prepared us, individually, for each other. And once He felt like we were ready, He placed it in our hearts and opened our eyes. The love was really always there. Falling in love with your best friend has truly been the biggest blessing. There's such a big level of respect, love, and comfort. We have since created so many more memories we've been able to add to our journey. From exploring different stadiums and cities, accomplishing many firsts together, going to over 9 concerts, three weddings, moving in together, and so much more. Everything has been so much better together and this is just the beginning. <3
