This is where we spend a majority of our time. Our favorite mountain to ski. There is something for everyone at Snowmass in the summer. You can take the gondola's up the mountain to enjoy the views and relax, mountain bike or hike the rim trail.
You can't come to aspen and not take a look at the iconic Maroon Bells. You'll recognize it often as the picture that advertises the beauty of Colorado. There is a bus you can take from Aspen Highlands up to the hiking area. For those that want to just take in the view, they can go up and take short walk to the lake. Whitney, Dan & Kassie were lucky enough to see a family of moose wandering here a few years ago. There are also longer hikes you can do over the course of a couple of hours.
You can't come to Aspen and not spend some time hiking in Independence Pass. Beautiful trails along bubbling brooks and if you dare you can jump into the Devil's Punchbowl.
Adam and I have gone white water rafting and would highly recommend to those that are up for an adventure. June is a great time to go when water is still rushing down from the mountains. Take advantage of the opportunity to experience Colorado in a unique way.
There are a few hikes near Basalt and Ruedi's is one we love. There are 2 mi and 8 mi hikes. Both with great views of the reservoir.
