Things To Do

We want everyone to enjoy all that Basalt & Snowmass have to offer. Here are a few of our favorite places and activities that we've been able to experience over the past couple of years.
Aspen Snowmass - hiking, biking, gondola rides

Aspen Snowmass - hiking, biking, gondola rides

120 Carriage Way, Snowmass Village, CO 81615
, (970) 923-1227

This is where we spend a majority of our time. Our favorite mountain to ski. There is something for everyone at Snowmass in the summer. You can take the gondola's up the mountain to enjoy the views and relax, mountain bike or hike the rim trail.

Maroon Bells - hiking

Maroon-Snowmass Trail, Aspen, CO 81611
, (970) 925-3445

You can't come to aspen and not take a look at the iconic Maroon Bells. You'll recognize it often as the picture that advertises the beauty of Colorado. There is a bus you can take from Aspen Highlands up to the hiking area. For those that want to just take in the view, they can go up and take short walk to the lake. Whitney, Dan & Kassie were lucky enough to see a family of moose wandering here a few years ago. There are also longer hikes you can do over the course of a couple of hours.

Independence Pass - hiking, car ride up to the continental divide, horseback riding

Aspen, CO

You can't come to Aspen and not spend some time hiking in Independence Pass. Beautiful trails along bubbling brooks and if you dare you can jump into the Devil's Punchbowl.

HOPS Culture

414 East Hyman Avenue, Aspen, CO 81611
, (970) 925-4677
Aspen Brewing Company

Aspen Brewing Company

121 SOUTH GALENA STREET, Aspen, CO 81611
, (970) 920-2739

Aspen Brew Co is a great little taproom to enjoy one of their flights. It's a great place to stop in after spending some time walking around Aspen. You may get lucky and their resident pup might be running around.

Roaring Fork Brewing Co

Roaring Fork Brewing Co

358 Main Street, Carbondale, CO 81623

We've frequented this brewery each trip. It's a great little brewery located in downtown Carbondale. Kick back, have a brew and play some games.

The Brick Pony Pub

The Brick Pony Pub

202 Midland Avenue, Basalt, CO 81621
, (970) 279-5021

The Brick Pony is our go to local restaurant and bar in downtown Basalt. It has great food with a laid back atmosphere. If you order a beer beware because you'll receive a large chalice of it.

Woody Creek Distillers

Woody Creek Distillers

60 Sunset Drive, Basalt, CO 81621
, (970) 279-5110

Aspen Whitewater Rafting

520 East Durant Avenue, Aspen, CO 81611
, (970) 920-3511

Adam and I have gone white water rafting and would highly recommend to those that are up for an adventure. June is a great time to go when water is still rushing down from the mountains. Take advantage of the opportunity to experience Colorado in a unique way.

Glenwood Hot Springs

Glenwood Hot Springs

401 North River Street, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601

This is a great place to relax after a couple days on the mountain.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

51000 Two Rivers Plaza Road, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
, (970) 945-4228

We haven't had a chance to experience this local site, but have heard great things and you can never beat the view.

Ruedi Reservoir

CO 81621

There are a few hikes near Basalt and Ruedi's is one we love. There are 2 mi and 8 mi hikes. Both with great views of the reservoir.

For all the days along the way
