If you’re looking for adventure and a bit of an adrenaline rush, the U.S. National Whitewater Center is the perfect spot. From whitewater rafting and zip-lining to rock climbing and mountain biking, there’s something for every thrill level. Not feeling that adventurous? You can still enjoy the scenery, walk the trails, or relax with a picnic and hang out by the river. Approx~30 minutes from the hotels.
If you’re a dog lover, Skiptown is great spot to check out. It’s a dog-friendly bar where you can hang out, grab a drink, and enjoy being around plenty of pups—we love bringing Willow there ourselves! Even if you don’t have a dog of your own, you’re still more than welcome to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere. Approx~15 minutes from the hotels.
For a great spot in the city, Fahrenheit Charlotte is one of our favorites. It’s a rooftop restaurant with amazing drinks, food and some of the best views of the Charlotte skyline, and it’s just as great during the day as it is at night. This is actually where I proposed, so it’ll always be a special place for us! Approx~15 minutes from the hotels.
If you’re in the mood to shop or just walk around, SouthPark Mall is one of the nicest shopping spots in the area. It’s got everything from high-end stores to more casual shopping, plus plenty of places to grab a bite or coffee. Even if you’re not planning to buy anything, it’s a great place to just stroll and spend a little time. Approx~1 minute from the hotels.
If you’re into art or just want something a little more laid back, the Mint Museum is a great stop. It’s got a mix of modern and classic exhibits, and it’s an easy place to wander through at your own pace. It’s a nice, relaxed option if you want a break from the more active or busy spots.
