I decided to propose to Tori in the spring of 2023. We were due for a vacation and I wanted to make it a big one. We decided to go to Mexico to an all inclusive resort on the gulf during our 10 year dating anniversary. There was going to be live entertainment, phenomenal food, way too much alcohol, but most importantly we were going to visit a whole new country together, something we had never done before. When we decided on Mexico I knew it was going to be the perfect place to propose, but all I had to do was figure out what time on our anniversary date I was going to do it and how I was supposed to get the ring into Mexico and keep it hidden until it was time. Everything went off without a hitch. We found all sorts of things to do during the day and plenty of food options when we were done which helped me figure it all out. On our anniversary we went on an excursion to Cancun to go zip lining, ATV riding, and cave diving. We had a blast especially during cave diving which got us out of the heat and into freezing cold water for a while. After an active day out and about we returned to the resort and got ready for the fanciest three course meal that either of us had ever had. We went back to the room after which is when I revealed that I had a surprise. I sat Tori down on the bed and told her to close her eyes so I could bring out the ring. When I told her to open her eyes they didn't just open, they lit up like I'd never seen them light up before. For the rest of the trip and for the longest time after we got home she could hardly believe the ring on her finger was for real and kept telling me how she just couldn't stop looking at it especially in a place where she could see it sparkle.

2013 April 21st - Tom and Tori meet for the first time, set up by Tori's best friend, Alyssa. May 10th - Tom and Tori attend Junior Prom together and officially start dating. September - Tom and Tori attend the Jefferson homecoming dance together. 2014 May 17th - Tom and Tori attend Senior Prom together. June 10th - Tori graduates from Bloomington's Jefferson High School. June 11th - Tom graduates from Bloomington's Kennedy High School. August - Tom starts at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis. August - Tori moves to Sioux Falls, South Dakota to start school at Augustana University. 2016 May 21st - Tom graduates from Dunwoody College with his Associates in Automation. 2018 May 10th - Tom and Tori celebrate 5 years of dating. May 19th - Tori graduates from Augustana University with a BA in biology. May 20th - The couple finishes their 4 years of long-distance when Tori moves back to Bloomington, MN. 2019 March 1st - Tom and Tori begin living together, moving into a townhouse in Rosemount along with a roommate. July 21st - Tom and Tori adopt their 1st dog together, a 9 year old Wheaten Terrier named Olly. She is the love of their life <3 2022 April 1st - Tom and Tori move out of the townhouse and into a house in Minneapolis, their first time living together as just the two of them (and Olly). 2023 February 9th - Tom and Tori buy a home in Bloomington! May 7th - Tom and Tori take a week long vacation to Playa del Carmen, Mexico to celebrate their 10 year dating anniversary. May 10th - Tom gets down on one knee and asks Tori to marry him. She, of course, says yes! 2024 June 22nd - Tori and Tom pick up the newest member of their family their foster dog, Coast, from Ruff Start Rescue. September 10th - After he receives the all clear from the vet, Tori and Tom officially adopt Coast.
