Like many millennial couples, Marc and Tori met on a dating app (shoutout to Hinge!) in 2019, during their last normal summer before COVID. Marc liked Tori's dad joke prompt and he responded back with one of his own. From there, the jokes and conversation kept flowing. Their first date was in DC at H Street Country Club (RIP… it was quite an establishment, and not a real country club). After five hours and free drinks, courtesy of Marc’s connections, they set up their next date for two days later, and their third date took place a few days after that. Marc asked Tori to be his girlfriend on December 2nd, 2019.

On the first day of their 2024 summer trip to Italy and France, overlooking the view of Verona at Castel San Pietro, Marc got down on one knee and proposed. After Tori confirmed he was being serious, she said YES! Once she was able to calm down from the excitement, Marc surprised her again with their proposal photographer: her best friend since birth, Carly. Marc and Carly had been scheming since the beginning of March for this proposal. Carly was able to fly down from London to surprise Tori and spend a few days with them in Italy, celebrating their new engagement. It's honestly the stuff you see in rom-coms (Tori's words).
