Things To Do

We have LOVED living in DC and we can't wait to share it with you! Here are some of our favorite things to do and places to see around the city.

D.C. War Memorial

Washington, DC

This is where Jack proposed to Tori on August 1st, 2023! It sits off to the side of the National Mall, which is full of other monuments and museums that you can check out as well.

Smithsonian National Zoo

3001 Connecticut Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20008

The National Zoo is right in our neighborhood and it's one of the only zoos in the country with pandas! Tickets are free (as with all of the Smithsonians) and we highly recommend that you head across the street to grab a proper burger at Duke's Counter after.

Rock Creek Park

Washington, DC

Oliver's favorite place to walk! If you go for a walk/run in the section near Woodley Park, you should also treat yourself to coffee and a pastry at Rose Ave, our favorite bakery. Jack loves the ube cheese amann and Tori always gets the mochi bites.

Renwick Gallery

1661 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20006

DC is full of incredible art museums and Renwick is one of Tori's favorites. It's also a Smithsonian (free admission!) and it has rotating modern art displays. It's a smaller museum, so it's easy to squeeze in time to walk through!

Tidal Basin

Washington, DC

We love walking around the Tidal Basin to see the monuments - especially at sunset.

Smithsonian National Museum of American History

1300 Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20560

Jack's favorite museum in the city - sometimes you just can't beat the classics!

Nationals Park

1500 South Capitol Street SE, Washington, DC 20003

If you're in the city long enough, catch a baseball game! The Washington Nationals play in Navy Yard (not far from the hotels and venue) and you can get tickets for a pretty reasonable price. We recommend stopping for a drink first at Dacha Beer Garden!

Solidcore Navy Yard

1245 1st Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

Try out Tori's favorite workout class! Solidcore was started in DC before becoming a national brand, so there are locations all over the city (including in Navy Yard).
