Flight
DCA, IAD, or BWI
There are three airports you can fly into when arriving to DC: National Airport (DCA), Dulles International Airport (IAD), or Balitmore-Washington International Airport (BWI). If you are staying in the city, National Airport (DCA) is the most convenient. DCA is on the blue and yellow metro lines, and is an easy drive to most places in the city. Dulles Airport (IAD) is about a 45 minute drive to DC, depending on traffic. IAD is on the silver metro line, and it takes about an hour to get into the city by metro. From Baltimore Airport (BWI), you can take the Amtrak or MARC train to DC's Union Station, which is about a 40 minute long journey. Driving from BWI takes about an hour, depending on traffic.
