FAQs

Question

How do you pronounce Machnik?

Answer

"Match-nick"

Question

When and where is the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are both at Williams Orchard (9456 N 500 E, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371). The ceremony begins at 4:00pm CST on 7/25/2026. Please plan to arrive by 3:15pm at the latest to take the shuttle to the ceremony site in the woods.

Question

What time zone is the wedding in?

Answer

The wedding, including the ceremony and reception are in CST. Please note, the hotels (and anything else in Michigan) are in EST.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

There will be shuttle buses picking up and dropping off guests from both the Holiday Inn Express and Fairfield Inn in New Buffalo, Michigan. Additional details will be provided regarding the shuttles. Alternatively, guests can drive and free parking is available at the ceremony/reception site. Ubers/Lyfts are also available, however, we caution service at the venue can be spotty for return rides.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, we’d love for our guests to join us in semi-formal / cocktail attire. Gentlemen, please wear a suit or blazer with dress pants. Ladies, a midi-length cocktail dress or dressy separates would be ideal. Please consider the outdoor venue and summer month and dress accordingly for comfort!

Question

Is the venue outdoors?

Answer

Yes! To really capture the "enchanted forest" vision, the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner will be outdoors. Please keep this in mind for attire, especially including shoes as there will be areas with only grass. In the event of bad weather, we will be relocated indoors.

Question

Is there air conditioning?

Answer

The venue / barn is unfortunately not air conditioned. The bride fell absolutely in love with this gorgeous venue, including the apple orchard and the lake and could not be swayed otherwise. However, we do promise to make the night as comfortable as possible for everyone including plenty of cold drinks, fans, and cross breezes. This will not stop either the bride or the groom from dancing!

Question

Is the venue accessible?

Answer

The venue is generally accessible. Please note, the ceremony site requires a shuttle ride and a short walk. A golf cart will be available for guests that require additional assistance. Please reach out to Tori (847)849-0400 or our wedding planner, Kristin (224) 545-4900, if you have any questions or concerns.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please see the Travel page for additional details, including room block information.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Answer

We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we unfortunately have a capacity constraint at the venue. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We love your children, but due to space restrictions, we cannot accommodate guests under age 10. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated.

Question

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?
