Once upon a time, two meatheads met at a gym. Just kidding. John had his eyes on Torey, or who was known to John's football teammates as TC, during their freshman year of college in 2011. Word got around in this small college and TC realized she had to meet the one boy who would show up to her hockey games. In 2012, Torey and John had their first date in November and enjoyed going to look at the Christmas lights show and dinner. After that date, the two became very close and were almost always studying at the library together....

After years of dating and enjoying the Chicago lifestyle, John graduated his Masters program from Concordia College Chicago and decided they were ready to leave Chicago. John moved to Indiana in 2018 and Torey followed a year later. The two got their first apartment together in March of 2019.

In order for John to show his appreciation for Torey leaving her job and following him to the great state of Indiana, John adopted an adorable supposedly Australian Shepherd mix. *enter Saber* The friendliest pup was loving life but John & Torey quickly realized this dog needed a friend. *enter Conrad* In January of 2020, John and Torey adopted another supposedly Australian Shepherd mix who has some anxiety issues. The two mutts made their family complete.

Now Torey and John quickly realized that the two mutts needed a huge backyard and their apartment and leads weren't cutting it. So, after one year in their apartment they decided to start looking for a home. Torey and John went into debt in March 2020 to purchase their first home together. Perfect time for some home updates while in quarantine! Now Torey and John and the two boys "enjoy" continuously working on their house, landscaping, maintenance and enjoying the homeownership lifestyle.

Well after all the big decisions already made, there wasn't much left besides the BIG one. So, in December of 2020 John and Torey visited John's family for Christmas. They all headed up to a condo in Jackson to enjoy some skiing. The night they get to the condo, John and Torey and the dogs all went for a walk in town. They walked in town and then started heading toward a beautiful white lit gazebo. Not paying any attention, Torey didn't realize John's family was over there. John got down on one knee and proposed to Torey. Right after, she turned around to see her family there and best friend joining them. A big shock since they all had to travel. Everyone got to celebrate that weekend. Now, are you starting to realize a trend? First date, proposal, wedding... they like the cold.
