FAQs

Here are some answers to questions you may have!
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal attire please! Floor-length gowns or formal cocktail dresses and suits with neckties or bowties. If you feel so inclined, we invite you to join our wedding color palette by wearing shades of gray, silver, navy blue, and black!

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is more than enough, but we are registered both with Zola and Amazon!

Question

What are the COVID guidelines for your ceremony and reception?

Answer

We want all of our guests to be safe but also have fun! Therefore, we hope that all of our guests take the proper precautions during these unprecedented times. We recommend masks for both the ceremony and reception for any guests who have chosen not to get the vaccine. We will provide disposable masks at both venues for any guests who would like one. Thank you for understanding and being safe!

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Well, it is Michigan, so no one really knows! It could be snowing, raining, cloudy, or sunny! All wedding events would be indoors though to help alleviate some of the uncertainty.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love all little ones, due to venue size restrictions we ask that only the kids who are specifically invited attend. Otherwise, we appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget and stay within venue limits. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We do have a hotel block! The Candlewood Inn and Suites is attached to our reception venue and is the most convenient option. Rooms can no longer be booked online, so in order to get the discounted rate, please call the hotel directly to book and mention the "Hoard/Chenault Wedding" to the booking agent for the discounted rate! If you would like another alternative, there are plenty of other hotels in the area if you wish to find a different place to stay.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

RSVP date is February 20th! There will be a paper RSVP included in the invite with pre-paid postage. Please mail back your RSVP as soon as possible so that we can plan accordingly!

Question

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes of course! Please reach out if you need some additional information for wheelchair access.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

Yes! There will be cocktails and light bites provided during cocktail hour and then dinner and drinks provided after. There will be an open bar throughout the night with a late night snack served at 10 pm. Please let me know if you have any dietary restrictions. My venue has assured me that they will accommodate to the best of their ability.

Question

Will transportation be provided? Or is there parking available?

Answer

Transportation from the ceremony location to the reception location will not be provided. There is parking for both the ceremony and reception. Ceremony: When you pull in off of Chandler Rd, follow the road all the way back, and the Chapel is on the left. You may park in any of the surrounding parking lots. Reception: When you pull in off of Forest, there is a parking lot at the bottom of the hill past the University Club covered entrance. Hotel: There is a parking lot in front of the hotel that you may park in. If you have a hotel room for Saturday night, we recommend checking in between the end of the ceremony and the beginning of cocktail hour. The hotel is directly connected to the reception location, and the hotel staff can point you in the right direction.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Yes and no! Our ceremony will be an unplugged event, so please no pictures or video! We have hired an amazing photographer and videographer to capture the moments for us. We also ask that no photos or videos be taken during the main events through the night so that our photographer can capture the best moments! These would include the special dances, cake cutting, and speeches. However, we would love for you to take pictures at the reception! If you post on social media, please use #ChenaultCelebration so we can see all posted photos after the night is over!

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have! Feel free to reach out via email to thechenaults22@hotmail.com with any of your questions and we will answer them as soon as possible!
