Don't forget your passport! If you do not have one, be sure to start the process early as it may take a few months to process. Fiji does not require a Visa or any special vaccinations. Visit the site for the latest passport and travel requirements.

Traffic moves on the left in Fiji! While most roads in urban areas are paved, they are poorly maintained. Roads outside the city are usually not paved.

USD is worth approximately double the FJD. (ex. $1 USD = $2 FJD, $100 USD = $200 FJD) Tipping is nice, but not required.

The scientist in me is coming out for real talk: Fiji is a country affected by Zika virus. Zika virus is transmitted by mosquitoes. Only 1 in 4 people infected with Zika virus are believed to develop symptoms, which are usually mild with full recovery in just a few days. However, IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, YOU SHOULD NOT TRAVEL TO FIJI as Zika can cause severe birth defects. Also, if you are trying to start a family you should abstain from traveling to Fiji or WAIT to try for pregnancy for 3 MONTHS AFTER traveling to Fiji. 3 months is the time period in which any possible Zika virus infection is cleared from your/your partners body. Even if you do not think you were bit/no symptoms, you need to wait 3 months. We totally understand that you cannot join if you are pregnant or trying to start a family!
