Greenport holds a special place in our hearts—it’s where we went on our first non-official "date"! This charming town is about a 30-minute drive from Riverhead and offers a variety of restaurants, breweries, and waterfront views. Whether you're looking for a relaxing afternoon or a fun evening out, Greenport is a lovely spot to explore during your stay. Some of our favorite spots are Claudio's and Greenport Brewery.
Wineries
The North Fork of Long Island is known for its beautiful wineries and vineyards. Here are a few to visit during your stay: RGNY (Riverhead): Our wedding venue! Enjoy handcrafted wines and stunning vineyard views, all while experiencing the unique charm of RGNY. Kontokosta Winery (Greenport): A stunning waterfront winery with Greek roots, Kontokosta offers a unique blend of wines in a picturesque setting. With breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a glass. Pindar Vineyards (Peconic): One of the largest vineyards on Long Island, Pindar offers a wide variety of wines and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. Their outdoor seating is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Macari Vineyards (Mattituck): A family-owned winery known for its sustainable practices, Macari offers a serene tasting experience with views of the vineyard and surrounding landscapes.
Harbes Family Farm
Harbes Family Farm is one of the biggest farms on the North Fork for classic fall activities like apple and pumpkin picking. Located just 15 minutes from Riverhead, the farm offers a fun experience for families and friends with seasonal attractions, delicious treats, and beautiful fall scenery. It’s a great way to spend a crisp autumn afternoon! There are also many other farms on the North Fork that would be good for the same activities!

For those looking to enjoy a round of golf during their stay, here are a few local courses: Island’s End Golf & Country Club (Greenport): Just outside of Greenport, this scenic 18-hole course offers stunning views of the Long Island Sound and a relaxed golfing experience.
