HOW THEY MET & THE PROPOSAL

Started Dating: 09.26.2013 Got Engaged: 09.25.2021 To be Married: 09.24.22

HOW THEY MET Julia & Zack met at the very end of freshman year. Their close mutual friend, Clarke, introduced them to each other in the Bucknell cafeteria. Zack reached out over the summer and the two of them kept in touch. They returned to campus sophomore year, went on a few dates, and it was clear that this was a special relationship to last a lifetime. THE PROPOSAL Julia & Zack spent their past 7 dating anniversaries the same way. They hike/walk during the day, and then celebrate in the evening with a formal dinner. This year, Zack had a different plan in mind. They spent the day hiking the Blue Hills reservation, reminiscing on the past 8 years of memories. Year by year, they commented on their favorite moments & how they've grown together as a couple. They went home, got dressed for dinner, and headed to Ocean Prime. It was a gray, cloudy, misty evening, as they walked along the Seaport pier. Suddenly, Zack said "That's weird... why are your parents here?" Julia turned to see her parents, Zack's parents, and her sister quickly jumped over to photograph the moment. Julia turned back to face Zack, and found him down on one knee, asking a very important question. She said yes, and the craziest thing happened. The sky cleared, and a gorgeous, brilliant rainbow (double rainbow!) took over the sky. Spectators were in awe, and both families were deeply touched by this moment they will never forget. They headed to Ocean Prime for dinner with their families. Zack explained that since their families were only in town for the night, they should stop and grab a drink before parting ways. He suggested a nearby bar & restaurant, Row 34. They walked over, and a hostess greeted them. Julia followed Zack's lead as they walked through the restaurant. Down a narrow hallway, Julia had no idea there was a room packed full of the couples' dear friends who were eager to celebrate their good news. It was the surprise of her lifetime, and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
