Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the Welcome Party, we'd ask that you dress in Dressy Casual attire. For the Ceremony & Reception, we'd ask that you dress in Formal (Summer chic) attire. Descriptions on both below! Dressy Casual: no jeans or shorts please! for the ladies, dresses, skirts, trousers, jumpsuits are all fair game. For the men, think business casual, no jacket required. Downtown Lisbon streets have plenty of cobblestone and steep inclines, so we recommend comfortable, tasteful shoes (no athletic sneakers or flip flops). Formal (European Summer Chic): think bright, colorful, festive formal wear. For the ladies, we recommend floor- or midi-length dresses (or suits) in bright colors with a block heel, wedge, or flats. For the men, we recommend linen or light-colored suits. We'll have parasols available for use in the sun, but please feel free to wear a tasteful sun hat (no baseball caps).

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Our goal in picking a venue in Lisbon was to provide our guests with as many accommodation options as possible at a variety of price-points. We will be staying at Pestana Palace, a boutique hotel about five minutes driving to Vandelli Gardens. We will be updating our website soon with information on how to book a discounted room. If hotel points are your thing, we recommend checking out any of the major Marriott and Hilton properties in downtown Lisbon. A few suggestions based on proximity to bars & restaurants in the area include the Ivens (Autograph Collection by Marriott) and the DUO Hotel Lisbon (Curio Collection by Hilton). If you would prefer to stay in a hostel, we'd recommend the Home Lisbon Hostel. If you'd like to stay with a larger group, there are many Airbnb properties in town. In the past, we've booked places in the Principe Real, Estrela and Bica neighborhoods for easy access to bars & restaurants.

Question

Can I bring a Plus one or my kids?

Answer

We'd like for the wedding to be adults only. If you are planning to bring your kids to Portugal and require a baby sitter, please let us know. We can help you coordinate a sitter through our wedding planners. Please only RSVP for the names included on the invite. If this poses any issues, please let us know!

Question

I have dietary restrictions, what is on the menu?

Answer

We expect to serve meat, fish, and vegetarian options for all of our meals. Please denote any specific dietary restrictions, aversions, or allergies when you RSVP. We will work with the venue to accommodate as best as we can. Our goal is to make sure everyone has plenty to eat!

Question

What should we do in Lisbon?

Answer

We will be sharing some of our favorite things to do and places to eat/drink soon!

Question

How should I get around?

Answer

In general, we think public transit, Uber/Lyft, and by foot are the best ways to get around the city. If you plan on remaining in the city center/surrounding Lisbon area, you shouldn't need a rental car. We've previously rented a car to travel up to Porto / the Douro Valley but there are frequent trains/busses you can take to travel throughout Portugal.
